Posted - 17 Nov 2010 : 8:13:34 PM on monday night I moved ollie into a different stable as we needed to put two stables worth of storage into the one as yard owner needed it for a new horse. So I said i would be happy to move ollie into the smaller stable as he was in the big mare and foal box and it is enormous lol to allow room for all my hay and haylage  so i didn't have to store it in the field shelter lol. Well the diffence it has made is unbelievable he is so relaxed and chilled and so much more content. The stables is in one block one row facing the other and the big stable is on the end where he was and opposite the yard bully lol and now he has moved into the middle and there is a small pony next door which he is able now to put his head over the wall and speak to where as the other box the walls were to the roof. so thinking now he was maybe a bit scared of the horse opposite and yard owner said now he puts his head out of stable in morn and knickers for his feed instead of standing in the back of the box all the time. He is riding really nicely as well the last couple of days so much more relaxed and less tense which could be due to the visit from a back person to go over his muscles and a chiro practor last week. It is so nice to see him so happy and content and never thought that the box he was in was making him so unhappy. I thought i was doing a good thing giving him the big box with more space and a nice big bed. But actually he prefers the smaller stable where he now has a companion. The only thing is moving stables meant moving the bedding from the big box into a small box and well now his and xsaras bed is about 2 ft deep with banks they could prob get cast against pmsl but at least i wont need to bed them for a while lol
