Posted - 01 Nov 2010 : 10:39:47 PM El Sahir (Merlin) just missed the top 5 by half a mark. There were some very nice stallions forward.
Redwood Lodge Essine was Champion Crystal Gucci Was Reserve
Congratulations to these boys. They were fantastic
Congrats to Stephanie Turner for riding Moonlight to take the top honours in the mares.
Don't know if any of you caught the mare championship but it was certainly interesting after the prizes were awarded. One mare took flight!!! Quite scary for the poor girl riding her. |

Posted - 01 Nov 2010 : 06:46:35 AM Hi RiffRaff, Thank you for your comments on Molly. We think she is special, if a little long-backed like her sire. I hope that she wasn't grumpy while you were there...she is very territorial about 'her' stable and Walter says that if they introduced a 'face pulling' class at shows, Molly would win hands down!!! I will be sure to post pix when the foal arrives but we have a while to wait still. Liz |

Posted - 31 Oct 2010 : 9:05:58 PM I can't believe after posting the link I actually missed the Ridden Stalion Class that Merlin (El Sahir) was in. I forgot the time difference and tuned in just when they were placing the final five in the class. (Vicki will kill me!)
As far as i know the top five chosen all went like dressage horses which was what I expected after seeing the event a couple of years ago. I believe the Redwood Horse went Champion on Sunday. Can anyone post the results....pleeeeeeeeze! |

Posted - 31 Oct 2010 : 6:15:12 PM We are so excited that the lovely, handsome, gorgeous (not biased or anything!) AJA Justified is now Jnr EU Champion...full deserved, he is 'something else'.
Can hardly contain ourselves waiting to see what will appear mid April next year - VA Mia Valentina x AJA Justified = ???. Ooh Lynda, we have been so lucky with our choice of stallion, haven't we?
Oh...and Emandoria is very closely related to our Molly (Mia Valentina), and Aunt Emandoria did good!

I love the way the ridden showing is done in Europe = more elegant and it allows the horse show it's paces and elasticity. |

Posted - 30 Oct 2010 : 10:33:23 PM I would have thought with Judges for the Ridden section being Frances Atkinson, Joanne Lowe and Mrs Modderman it would have been judged as we are used to being judged in the UK.
These were the same judges when we took Toman the other year when he achieved Championship and it was DEFINATELY judged as we are used to being judged in the UK. Maybe they have changed the format. |

Posted - 30 Oct 2010 : 9:15:23 PM Oooo Marilyn thats very interesting, does anyone know anywhere (photographers websites?!?!) where I can see any pics of the previous ridden classes from previous years!?!?! I find it all very fascinating especially the american classes which are all so extreme although I am jealous of the variety of classes that americans have!!!!

Posted - 30 Oct 2010 : 6:05:53 PM He got the 5 x 20's for Head and Neck and 5 x 19's (I think or it may have been 19.5) for Movement, with a total score of 93.1.
Unfortunately my streaming was horrid, but I got the idea. Had to be blatantly rude to visitors as they arrived just as Justified came into the ring...watched him, got most of the marks and then had to show the people around, so didn't even find out who won the class or placings! Humph.....!
He looked absolutely fabulous...roll on mid April.
