leasing your pony/horse(as the owner). i don't have the foggiest about owt like this but someone has suggested it.lol. any advise would be most welcome.  |

I used the BHS template to loan out our Guinness 4 years ago now when Daughter went up to Scotland.
We insisted she was insured and we get a copy of said insurance every year, we have access to her ANY time and can remove her, know where she is and are informed if she is moved and know who her vet and farrier are, also we went to look where she was going and spoke to people on the yard and checked the fields and roads, and watched them ride her to make sure they knew how to ride.
We used to check her each month to begin with but now we only speek when needed or if we are passing that way call in, tho my daughter does go ride her every so oftern.
She is with a loverly man who loves her to bits so much that when my daughter returned from Scotland nearly a year ago (Guinness is her horse) we decided to leave her where she was as it would break Grahams heart if he lost his Guinness 
Good luck you hear horror stories regarding horses going out on loan we have had good results the few times tho i must add most of them times it has been to people we knew, Guinness was the 1st one to go to a stranger.
Just be happy with what you are doing ... if there is any giggle at all look for someone else. |

I have just done this and about to get CeeCee back due to her illness (and other things with the loaner, but lets not go there!), but I'm sure it can work out if you find the right person.
The BHS template is good to follow, just make sure you specify who pays for everything.
Also remember to ask for references, if they can't provide any then don't loan to them!

If you go on the BHS website and search for sample loan agreement, it will give you a template that you amend accordingly. |
