Another fan of Pink Powder here, use it on my youngster who broke 2 teeth last winter, she lost quite a bit of weight and was quite loose in her droppings. Picked up nearly straight away on Pink Powder, my vet recommended it and i was so pleased she did.I also use Red Mills gro care balancer on my mares, can be used for all ages of horse or pony. |

Cheapest way, as Alistair says, is good old fashioned vegetable oil from a Tesco etc... A good dollop in their usual feed (D&H Suregrow) helps with maintaining weight/condition (lovely shine to the coat) and no fizz 
Had to stop giving it to mine as they were putting on a bit too much condition  Will use again if they start to drop off through the winter. |

Used Blue Chip years ago and it did send mine around the bend AND back again, didn't help that she was chestnut with 2 white socks! Needless to say, haven't used it since and won't again. Like Top Spec, but am sticking to D&H for everyone and everything.
You will have to try it first and see what reaction your horse gives. Each one has a different reaction to hard feed. Good luck.

Blue chip origional on a late teens horse blew his brains but gave him the winning edge also top spec conditioning flakes on a welsh cob who was very stressy and helped him gain weight was very succesfull depends on the individual . trial and error gd luck xx |

I use blue chip I find it helps with the topline and seems to be doing a good job at putting the top line over their backs. I use it with alpha A OIL AND add a scoop of cool mix they are looking really well and with out the fizz |

Veg oil from Tesco is good for condition -add to feed about 1 teacup per day . |

Have you considered Pink Powder? Its a feed balancer just like the others and I think it is the best priced. I used Equilibra which was amazing, Top Spec I found good too.
I was recommended Pink Powder this year and was massivley sceptical as just a powder (funnily enough pink too!) rather than an actual 'nut' so to speak, the results have been brilliant! My older mare was a bit weak on her topline (I don't show her but want her to look her best )and she appeard to not be digesting her food porperly. It has put condition on her and her droppings are a lot firmer. I may be wrong, but I think its the most cost effective on the market.

Used Blue Chip on a very poor Irish Sports Horse - went somewhat loopy! Used it on a Hanoverian - fine. Used it on Ryazan - Very Loopy! Use Top-Spec Senior balancer - he's fine on that and has been on it for 2yrs. |

I've never used Blue Chip
But I've used 'Calm & condition' in the past and can't rate it hugh enough it's amazing!!!!

Have used both Blue Chip and Top Spec and had good results with both. Haven't experienced either making them fizzy but I suppose it depends on the individual horse and how much is fed. Using a little Blue Chip in the stallions' feed at the moment and they're fine, perfectly sane, sociable and rideable. |

I used Blue Chip on a stressy stallion, didn't do anything for him at all. Best thing I have found for him is either a diet of straights or Spillers Conditioning Mix. Have also had really good results with Baileys Outshine.

We use blue chip on our purebred mare and palomino section b mare, they are both good doers and get porky so we feed blue chip with alpha a as a complete feed. Both maintain weight well and seemed to develop better topline and muscle tone without getting fat. also the palomino after a month went more golden in colour, bonus!! |

I used Baileys Outshine last winter on Lily, helped her condition and she didn't go loopy, would use it again. She had a mug added to her feed every evening. |

Actually we had a bit of a problem with Top Spec - too much lunacy and not just from Spider, so it just goes to show, it depends on the individual horse. |

I used Blue Chip on a horse that we bought that was very poor and it did seem to work but at the time I think anything would have made him look better.
Did try one other on it but it sent him crazy.
Have also used Top Spec and found that it did not suit my lot, in fact the only time I have ever had Mud Fever was when I used Top Spec.
I use Baileys Lo cal now and find that they are all fine on that. Baileys have brought out a Performance Balancer so may look at that for next season.

i used calm n condiion with my colt as he worried weight off and he was fab on it. i used blue chip a few times and it has never worked for any of mine! |

I agree with Kath. Found mine impossible on Blue Chip but bck to normal as soon as they came off it.

I've heard good & bad reports. Some love it, some say it fizzes their horses up so they're unrideable & dangerous. Seems to depend on the individual
I'm on TopSpec - similar idea, and i swear by it. My 3 have never looked better  |

Thats what i need at the mo, i don't want the weight to drop with his ridden training work, have upped his usual cube and he has gone a bit loop de loop, want the learning to be a safe calm experience for us both

Yes. Used it last year through the winter to try and maintain weight which is always a problem. Didnt seem to create 'fizz'. About to discuss buying some more with YO. |
