Posted - 27 Aug 2010 : 8:14:26 PM Well I think a lot of my friends on here will know that I sold my beautiful boy Aragorn (strider) just a few weeks ago I have since been made aware that he was up for sale within 3 weeks of selling him, after being told he would an endurance horse. Any way I have phoned today and offered to buy Strider back at the price she is asking. Seller was very unpleasant on the phone and concluded the conversation by saying a 'Grey Arab had just died', while we were discussing Strider so to insinuate it was my beautiful Boy and hung up on me. Now this is just completely out of order, and as Strider is completely fit and a stunning boy I am very distressed that she will not sell him to me at the price he is advertised at and feel completely blown away by her attitude, after we agreed to keep in touch!!! I will be speaking to my Solicitor next week and taking this much further. Alison |

Posted - 07 Sep 2010 : 6:10:56 PM a grey horse had just died, just not that one. perhaps she was really upset as im sure we all would be. |

Posted - 07 Sep 2010 : 1:00:03 PM I would have thought the point is, if this lady said he was in a forever home and she was keeping him, then as a professional dealer, this was in appropriate. Her comment about a grey horse having died was also really inappropriate in the context as stated.
I would have nothing to do with someone who misrepresented themselves, but if she never implied she was keeping him, just that he would be an endurance horse (with someone!) then she probably hasn't misled you. Would you keep him if you bought him back now? Good luck with it - its a difficult decision to sell at the best of times, I know. |

Posted - 02 Sep 2010 : 3:10:02 PM The lady that bought Aragorn is quite careful about who she sells her horses to, I am sure he will find a good home and have a good life. He will also be well educated while he is with her - years ago I went on a weekend endurance course run by her, and she is very keen on the basics. |

Posted - 02 Sep 2010 : 2:42:22 PM I did much the same, sold her, totally regretted it and had to wait more than 3 years to get her back. I had a very cunning way of keeping tabs on her if she came up for sale, (can PM you details if you like, its easy). I have her back, and my heart still jumps each day when I see her. |

Posted - 02 Sep 2010 : 08:29:51 AM Well said Loosefur. Hes probably got as good a chance as any getting a great home being sold by this lady - possibly more since she is likely to know a lot about her 'market' and appears to deal in endurance horses. Sorry you were upset though, Alison. |

Posted - 02 Sep 2010 : 12:51:02 AM This person is a very well known dealer - you only have to look at her website... she buys arabs (often off this webiste) and sells them for a profit. I've often thought her mark ups were a bit cheeky but she's in business to make money. Lots of the horses she's sold have gone onto good homes and are out and about doing endurance successfully. There's no reason to think he won't end up in a good home. Presumably if you bought him back you'd have to sell him again anyway? What she said to you was not professional or pleasant but I imagine she read the original posts (or was told about them) and is less than happy at you bad mouthing her on a public website - hence why you got short shrift when you phoned the other day asking to buy him back. A clause in the sales contract giving you first refusal would have been advisable in the circumstances that you wanted to sell him to a forever home. |

Posted - 01 Sep 2010 : 11:40:54 PM I never saw him on her website anyway. I think he was only advertised on the Endurance Sites. |

Posted - 01 Sep 2010 : 8:49:13 PM Aragorn is not advertised as for sale on the current owner's website, it is very possible that he has a new owner. |

Posted - 01 Sep 2010 : 7:04:43 PM It doesn't matter if she is or isn't, she can still 'lurk' so will have now seen the posts from people to send a friend to secretly buy him... :( She may now be wary of any buyer, in hindsight it would have been better for people to use the PM system. Lets just hope she see's sense and sells him back to Alison |

Posted - 01 Sep 2010 : 5:06:49 PM I think the person who has him at present also has a gelding for sale on the sales pages, do they not have to be a member to post an advert? Hope you get him back Alison. Nikki x |

Posted - 01 Sep 2010 : 4:43:54 PM I dont think the buyer IS a memeber on here so she is unlikely to see it , however I do know of the person and she makes no secret that she is a dealer, she has in the past bought a crimbo son ( not from me) intending to bring him on and sell him which she did . however if she has been offered the price she is asking I dont see the problem. as others here have said it would be easy for you to get someone else to buy him back for you. good luck. she normally deals in endurence horses. |

Posted - 01 Sep 2010 : 4:10:38 PM I have the impression from Alison's last post that the current owner of Strider is a member on here.........So here is a message for you
Alison has offered to buy Strider back for the price you are asking in your advert, I do not see the problem? Why would you want to get a bad name on here and amongst the Arabian fraternity over a horse that you clearly do not want now and have advertised for sale??
Whatever your reason for now not wanting Strider, do the decent thing and let Alison buy him back, you get the asking price and Alison gets her boy back, end of story..... Thank you for doing the right thing. |

Posted - 27 Aug 2010 : 10:07:19 PM Fee I love you!!!, why oh why would someone suggest that my beautiful boy had died??, very very sad - 'just checking up on him'' as any past owner would do, and as I believe we all do in the Arabian world to the best of our ability. Just not sure what I can say say now, so so sad that someone that appears so professional is the complete opposite of what they say even though I believed that I had done done all the the homework before I sold him. But after the dire conversation of today which leaves me staggered and stunned I will just try and get my horse back as |no longer have any trust at all in the buyer of Strider(aragorn) I want my horse back now. I have phoned you on several occasions and you will not enter into a conversations with me regarding Strider saying he is not for sale, yet I have seen the ad you have on SERC with my pictures. Don't know what you are up to but please just have the decency to tell me what is happening |
