Posted - 22 Aug 2010 : 8:43:41 PM She is roughly half and half Egyptian (mainly New Egyptian) and Old English. The Old English is mainly on her dam's side, but also through Narrisa.
Saab was a very nice horse and one of the first modern imports from Egypt to the UK. After a rather odd career which meant he didn't get the mares he deserved he finally stood at Claverdon Stud. The photo of him usually reproduced is VERY unflattering and shows him as a youngster - he was much better proportioned as a mature horse
Al Sood has sired a number of endurance/performance horses and I believe is still with Fiona Walling in Scotland.
Fakhr el Kheil was imported from Egypt, but does not count as 'straight Egyptian' as he has a line to Skowronek.
Fahim Hisan went out the Middle East IIRC.
Hope that fills in some gaps!

Posted - 21 Aug 2010 : 8:26:15 PM I don't know your mare but I know Al Sood stands with Fiona Walling. I have her daughter's number if you want and I can PM it to you. Her prefix is Cumbria so she probably bred the granddam of your mare and, possibly, her dam too. Dakshah stood with the Woodwards at High Tor and, of course, Crystal Magician stood at Cullinghurst. Hope this is a start. |
