Does anyone use these?? put them on my boy about five years ago because he could be a bit trippy, now have a new farrier he dosnt really like them and thinks arabs toes should be more long like with traditional shoes rarther then short in the toe so we chainged to normal shoes no clips i wasnt impressed as although we still went well in canter and gallop walk and trot was a bit strange like he was a little foot sore and the only change that has been made are the shoes

My boy is shod NB style, like Pasha, but without NB shoes. It is to do with where the foot breaks contact with the floor. With NB shoeing the break over takes place sooner ie, the point when the hoof rolls forward and leaves the ground. It is better with a quicker break over as it means less strain and lessens the wear on the hoof! I think!

with the balances on my boy has tiny little feet but they look correct to me because thats what hes been in for 5 years, with the normal shoes on his feet looked to long to me and the shoes were as if he was in high heels they just looked very wrong but that could be because im use to natural balance

Long toes are not natural on any horse

You get long toes from incorrect diet, shoeing, poor trimming/hoof maintenance - or a combination of the above. If your horse's toe is longer than around 3 and a half inches then it needs addressing.

I have forced him to put the natural balance back on so i am hopeing that this problem will disapear, he just felt a bit tottery on his fronts if that makes sence and this is the only thing that has changed.

I did have giles haytor but now have scott topham, think he was up you way Julia after me yesterday

I wonder if we have the same farrier? Spider goes better in the normal shoes but he did have NB for a few years, he used to trip in these even though his feet were 'shorter'. He does have long toes but a couple of farriers have said that he just has that foot shape.

If it worked for your horse then stick with it!!!

My farrier shoes Shesky with NB on the front and power plates on the back.... Pasha is shod NB style but not with NB shoes if that makes sense... it's what works for each individual horse, but i'm with Pauline and detest long toes - cause soo many problems!

I love NB shoes All mine are in them. No horse should have long toes.

If you have used NB shoes all along then I would continue to use them.
