Preview:

The Royal Cavalry of Oman Premier Handicap Final 0-100 over 1 Mile:
This competitive renewal has several top class handicappers in with a chance but the selection is Genuinely At Risk for the Bill Smith who looked smart last term winning twice over 7 furlongs and 10 furlongs where he beat Breeders Cup winner Tidarbret (won twice since), he then won well on his seasonal debut at Wolverhampton over 8 furlongs (beating Mi Temps De Piboul and Noble Athlete) and can make his 5 lb pull with top weight count to claim victory. Dangers come from Karte D’Or who looked extremely impressive at Fakenham beating maiden winner Joybell and Kalikeauba over a mile, she was out paced in the Group 1 Zaabeel Stakes at this track over 6 furlongs and could easily take this event under top weight for the Royal Cavalry of Oman. Gill Duffield runs Thimaar an extremely classy mare, she won twice last term over 7 furlongs and was 3rd in a Group 3 event at Bath, this term she was 2nd to Tidarbret at Wolverhampton over a mile before being outclassed in a Group 2 at Newmarket; dropped in grade she should be able to land a place.

Review:

The Royal Cavalry of Oman Premier Handicap Final 0-100 over 1 Mile:
An impressive victory here from the Royal Cavalry of Oman’s smart mare Karte D’Or under top weight who got the better of stablemate Hajes for an impressive 1-2 for trainer Salem Hakmani. Karte D’Or (Djarni des Forges x Kaprice) was superbly ridden by Mr MSM Balushi, she was held up mid field throughout before coming with her run three furlongs out, she had a clear lead inside the final furlong and ran on strongly to win in fine style and is definitely on the upgrade. Hajes (Vertigo x Al Muhabah) ran another brave race in defeat, he travelled well throughout and made smooth progress inside the final two furlongs to chase the winner and was all out to the line under David Probert but couldn’t get there. Whilst Genuinely At Risk (Doran x Djenuine) was held up at the back of the field and was under pressure with two furlongs to go but briefly went second inside the final furlong before Hajes just got up by a nose to hold onto second.
