I would like to thanks all who send us your love and hugs, I have had a bit of a rough day and feel slightly disoriented but want you to know she passed very peacfully , eating, as the injection went in and gone before she touched the ground.
I had almost had a change of heart before hand as she looked so happy but then she was dosed up with pain killers and I had given her a nice big breakfast of her favourite food , plus 2 packets of polo's.
yeserday I let her wander the farm where ever she wanted to go, she thought that was fun too, I took some pictures of her and I want to share them with you , my last pictures of my lovely girl ( BTW I made her older than she was , she was only 15!) I was with her at her birth and I was with her at her death, in between she had a very happy life and will remain in my heart forever .
rest in perfect peace my darling Shani until I come to you.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your dear Shani - dont come here often since losing Freddie and seems this time is a sad one.

I thought this thread had gone to bed  but before it goes I just want to say thanks so much for the heartfelt comments each has made, it has been very comforting as I know how others have lost a dear one too, I will leave you with this little picture of shani as I will always remember her , cheeky and always in your face wanting to know what you are doing

You did the best you could do lynda. You raised her and she lived in luxury.
I sometimes wonder if god takes the best ones early?
I think we feel it more when we have a small personal farm. We know our horses like pets/humans.
Dont be sad,you will see her spirit and smile.
