Took my boy to the BD today and bless him its the first time out this year and only his second ever test and he won his first class, not sure how he did in his second class as we had to leave but will find out in next couple of days.Lots of people came over to ask how he was bred and there were some surprising looks when i said he was pure arab, yes of course arabs can do dressage i said. I took my camera and some spare batteries but forgot to put the card in couldnt believe it, there was a chap there taking piccies so hopefully i can post some .There was one lady who said she had always disliked arabs as she thought they were good looking nothings but even she said she had changed her mind especially when she found out he was a stallion.Thankyou my wonderful boy.

Here here Babs, arabs/anglos/partbreds are the most fantastic horses and are so underated by many people.I am so proud of my boy who got a 2nd in his other class and it gives us all hope to keep trying .Still waiting for more pictures , will post them when i get them.

We really must take our hats off to those Arab,Anglo and Part Bred Arabs, who are out there promoting Arabian bloodlines in open competition.

As Owners, Breeders, we do not have to be convinced of the ability of our beloved horses. However, as ever more owners are now taking on the closed ranks of Dressage and indeed all other competitive disciplines, and helping bring down the barriers of prejudice that have long been aimed at our breed.

Keep up the excellent work...give your show horses a chance to express all their dimensions of capability

Its great to see our Arabs doing so well all across the dressage ranks these days. About time too that the prejudice that was there is slowly starting to be removed. Friends of mine who compete in dressage and were so anti-arab is was beyond believe couldnt possibly believe that it was in their capabilities. I couldnt understand their thinking as they have such natural movement.

Finally I made them come to Malvern one sunny Saturday for the Nationals and at the lunchtime there was a grey stallion doing dressage to music. I cant for the live of me remember the ladies name, I think she may of been foreign and they were amazed.

Having since seen PHA Silvern Risalm and Darren Crowe perform they have changed their thoughts as it certainly is not a novelty to see our Arabs competing anymore. And now with wonderful stallions like Plumbum and Toman out there as well, its further raising the profile

Well done another brilliant Arab.

Yet another Part Bred Arab ELMDALE ENTHUSIAST showing his expressive paces which have made him a successful dressage horse. Only 15.2hh, proving that he can hold his own against the typical big rangy warmblood types,so popular in the dressage arena.

So nice to see a more natural correct head carriage and not the seriously overbent examples which seem to be the acceptable standard, more often seen nowadays.

Archie`s Dam is a Part Bred Welsh `D` Cob/Part Bred Arab Magic Chance and his sire Sunray Scelebrity AASB and Elmdale Enthusiast is 37.50% Arab

He has three full blood siblings, also equally talented, continuing to fly the flag for Arabian blood in dressage horses

Not an Arab but does boast 25%, as sired by our old premium Anglo stallion, Scelebrity His Dam a BSJA Grade `B` Showjumper Shire/TB Broomwich Bunty

"Ollie" (Broomwich Backchat) has been an all round success over natural and coloured jumps but he has now concentrated on dressage, which seems to be his forte!! He is a big horse, 170cm and his first competitive unafilliated dressage classes at local level, saw him end with the area unafilliated dressage championships. Well done Ollie and Guy

He has this year afilliated to British Dressage and already got points on his card. So, another Part B red Arab flying the flag in open competition

Ollie with former owner

Ollie has been repurchased from his former owner and Guy is starting to make real progress in the dressage arena with this super moving boy

Shall watch his progress with interest

Lovely and well done!

I too am hoping to do some dressage with my little arab, but she's not long backed so it'll be a while. Love seeing and hearing how others are doing though, keeps me inspired! Keep us posted and more pics please!

Its everywhere in the world the same!

If you are doing well you can not hold the moment in a pic as you have forgotten to charge the batteries or anything else.........

But allways keep in mind, that you had a wonderfull day that special day!

Callisto Posted - 27 Jun 2010 : 3:36:35 PM
Well done!! Most people's prejudices against Arabs are based on ignorance - it is only when they see them doing something that they realise they are not just pretty ponies but very able athletes so keep up the good work
