Posted - 20 Jun 2010 : 12:46:01 PM Tis already on the Showing forum but as we are in danger of losing this show before it even gets started I thought I should highlight it on here. It is on the 3rd July at Pachesham and has showing, dressage, showjumping, hunter classes, three disciplines and gymkhana games for fun. There are not enought of these kind of shows so please support this one in its first year. |

Posted - 23 Jun 2010 : 10:25:12 PM Thank You soooo much all those that have entered the Performance Show. Waiting beyond the closing date we have managed to secure enough entries to warrant a modest show However for it to be successful we need more entries. So keep entering please and I'm sure show jumps can be lower at some stage for some practise jumping if time and helpers allow So the show goes ahead. Thanks see you all there |

Sounds fantastic idea, would love to come but tooooo far away for me I'm afraid. However, am thinking how something like this could be done for our area??

Posted - 22 Jun 2010 : 1:29:19 PM I wish I could make it, but unfortunately Ettie is out of action at the mo and the other horse I compete isn't an arab.
I also agree with Nut - I think it would be more inviting if there was some lower level stuff. If I had been taking Ettie, the heights I tend to jump at 2ft to 2ft6. If there was a 2ft jumping, a few more people who don't normally jump their arabs may be tempted by giving it a go. Also Pachesham is one of a very few venues that has a 2ft cross country. This is a fab little course and I would have been hesitant about doing the 75cm course in the schedule. Also you could do an optional walk and trot dressage test imalgimated (sp?)with the prelim.
However despite this I really really hope the show is a success as I really want to do it next year with Ettie! Pachesham is a fantastic venue and I feel gutted that I can't make it this year. |

Posted - 21 Jun 2010 : 10:04:13 PM I think it would be nice to run jumping classes along side the showing classes at our C shows, like Malvern do.
And have the entries open on the day this will mean people that go to the show may fancy a pop round a tiny course, and then for us mad lot a couple of bigger classes!!!
It may be a better idea to do this if the performance show lacks entries, even if it just a clear round where you can have the fences how ever big you like, at the least it will be encouraging more performance and jumping from our versatile breed. And also be a nice sight to see a winner/champion from a ridden class show off round a little course of jumps to show we aren't all fancy prancy!!!
Or maybe even a working hunter class!?!?!
I really hope the entries pick up though I am SO excited!!!

Posted - 21 Jun 2010 : 8:34:05 PM one suggestion for future would be to make it an open show with highest placed pure, part, aa arabs getting special rossettes. Teams could have at least 1 pure bred or part bred or aa on them etc.
Additional revenue from wider competitor pool, still promote arabs in open competition etc.
Also, a show for all levels would have been good to have walk and trot dressage tests and lower height show jumping. I would have had a go at say 2ft but starting at 2ft 6" is just too big for us as jumping beginners.
Just some thoughts, my entries are in so really hoping this goes ahead. |

Posted - 21 Jun 2010 : 8:25:35 PM The sport arab/trakehner show was cancelled due to only 8 entries.
Such a shame that these type of shows are not getting the entries, especially when everyone grumbles that they want one!
