Posted - 18 Jun 2010 : 4:45:58 PM First of all hello - am new to the forum and to Arab owning. Been lusting after one for a while and have now got my own little girlie. Have been wondering what type of Arab is she - Russian, Crabbet etc? How would I find out? I've had a look at allbreedspedigree, but can't work anything out from this. Doesn't matter of course - I think she's lovely anyway - just curious.

Posted - 22 Jun 2010 : 10:49:05 AM Hi there, I have a 2yr old gelding by Phariz bred by Joan Rawnsley of Aberllwyd Stud. My boy is bay and very much like the sire and I can see the similarity in your mare. I will post a photo when I ever get a good one! He's entered for the BEF Futurity so hopefully may get a nice one from there. Phariz (Born 1988 by Nazzerin our of Pharissa)raced in UK and Qatar over 4yrs with a lifetime record of 16(6-2-4) He successfully completed the UK AHS Marathon in 1995 in 3rd place. He was exported to Qatar and raced in the Qatar Desert Marathon in 1996 with a 2nd place before winning it in 1997. Good Luck with your new girl she looks lovely. Sue

Posted - 21 Jun 2010 : 9:13:46 PM Thank you all so much for replying - here's Scarlet - as I said, I've had her for six weeks now and she hasn't really put a foot wrong. It's hard to remember she's still a baby really as she's so calm and confident out hacking.
Really appreciate your welcome. |

Posted - 19 Jun 2010 : 5:12:09 PM I've roughly got her down to 51.53045637% Crabbet. I hope that's about right, it's only from what I've worked out from allbreedpedigree.com. I don't know what the percentages of the others are, but by the looks of it she has a lot of Russian and Polish in her (as the others have said). |

Posted - 19 Jun 2010 : 08:50:15 AM Yes a goodly amount of Crabbett/old english with a good tail female through Selma (abbas Pasha breeding) then an introduction of Russian through Madalj, and some nice egyptian lines through Ak Kastana , I look forward to her pictures |

Posted - 19 Jun 2010 : 06:16:44 AM Cor - what a welcome - thank you.
She's Aberllwyd Pharana - DOB 19/5/05 - chestnut mare with 4 white socks. Sire is Phariz and dam is Zakana. Have had her 6 weeks now and she's such a sweetie. Just hacking her out and no plans to do anything more than exploring the Welsh countryside with her.
Will try and work out how to post photos. |
