Posted - 04 Jun 2010 : 01:56:45 AM please be careful if you are thinking of the SSS as i had one that was very allergic. We now use dilute dettol with amazing results. a 500ml bottle probably makes 5X 1 ltr plant spray bottles full cheers sue |

Posted - 03 Jun 2010 : 4:41:25 PM PinkvBoots, my gelding has really really sensitive skin and most of the homemade and shop bought fly repellents make his skin come out in blisters but Coopers beleive it or not doesnt!!
I put some on him yesterday he was plagued with flies and havent bothered today because there are not any bothering him. I think if you apply it it should last for upto 3 days but I find just a little every day does the trick.

Posted - 03 Jun 2010 : 2:09:36 PM I have tried quite a few different home made ones and shop bought ones, nothing seems to really work. Arabi gets really badly bitten my mosquitos mainly on his neck, I think I am going to try coopers although he does have sensitive skin, I put some radiol b on a shoulder injury he had last year and it burnt his skin, so must be carefull from now on with new things I might try a few mentioned on here see if there any better. |

Posted - 03 Jun 2010 : 10:49:03 AM Hi!
I use a mixture of Avon skin so soft with Lavender & Lemongrass oils which i buy from a herbal shop, diluted with water on all of mine and this seems to work. One of my geldings is alergic to a lot of the shop bought ones but also hates flys so i have to be very careful, this seems to keep them away but is mild enough for him!! |
