Well I put Ishara on this after her last season and it has worked miracles! She came back into season last weekend and as she'd had a an abscess rode her for first time on Monday after a week off and with first shoes on and she was fine. Let me tack her up as normal, usually when in season I have to get someone to hold her and was relaxed on the ride. A little tense through her back but no silly behaviour. Rode her again last night and she's normally worse in the evening but again tacked up fine and despite winking at the Flashman for the whole ride was very relaxed again. Still some tension in the back but clearly not upsetting her like it usually does. Can't believe the difference in such a short space of time. Hope it continues!

Joanna it was the same reason I shod Arabi very stony here I started with fronts and have a full set in the summer, I used to avoid the stony paths but it just got silly and as you say you just want to be able to get them working.
His feet are looking really good now after all the trouble I had, we have got to the bottom of the lameness he damaged his collateral ligament in his elbow quite rare but with treatment will heal, my vet says it could have been down to the balance of his feet but again he could have done it himself. Good luck with the shoes.

She's just got fronts on and she's so much happier I think she was actually quite footsore. What decided me was after I had a week off and rode her everyday she then went lame with an abscess and it seems everytime we get going something seems to set us back and I really want to crack on with her education. I just thought shoes would mean one less thing to worry about. Once she's used to having fronts on i'll probably put hinds on as well. I like what I read about barefoot but even though she has excellent feet it's just too stony round our way and I want to be able to go out for three/four hour hacks at the weekend and it was too much for her. I considered boots but i've always had shod horses and they've never had a problem so shoes seemed the obvious answer.

Glad you found the answer I know a few people who also use it with good results, you mentioned you have had her shod did you decide on just fronts or a full set? what changed your mind in the end, sorry if you think I am being nosy its just out of interest really as I have had foot problems with Arabi.
