Hi there, i'm hoping that this is ok to post as I have advertised them on here.
Due to my pregnancy I have to find homes for Rupert (my arab) and Brisbane (SF/TB) on loan. My tb is not suitable for loan anymore as his feet are struggling keeping shoes on and barefoot is not an option (thanks to his racing days), so I will find a way to keep him. So, I can't afford them anymore and i'm starting to struggle looking after three horses.

If anyone knows of nice homes please do let me know, I would prefer them to stay in the South East (i'm in Sussex).
Roo would be great (i'm told) for endurance, or just a fun, caring and experienced home, he'd really love a 1 to 1 relationship with his own person.
Brisbane is a typical chestnut mare, sensible one day, and like a 3yr old the next. Great with kids. She's very flashy and not for the faint hearted but she's adored by her current rider (who isn't the bravest or most experienced). 16hh and generally bright orange. Cannot trot on the roads due to old injury.

Any suggestions, i'm starting to feel like i'll only loan to AL members as I have not found any other people that seem to care as much about their horses, are experienced enough and or are not afraid/too proud to ask on here if they don't know something or need help...

I have lots of pictures and if you're a friend on facebook there are some on there.

Aaahhhh, thanks in advance, a rapidly expanding Anna

Thank you honeyb, will do. I'm realising what a lovely little horse he's turning into now, just seeing the way that he has let these people 'try' him and how he has behaved, I am in awe really.

Fantastic news! I'm sure the perfect loaner will turn up for Rupert, you have every right to be picky, they are your babies after all! Good luck Anna & keep us posted

Thanks ladies...I am hoping that I have found a fantastic home for Brizzy (my orange girl) with a wonderful 'aliner'! So fingers crossed, progress....now if I could only convince them to have Rupert too....mmmm.

Well I wouldn't loan to people as inexperienced as that either, keep looking, the right person will come along, I'm sure.

Thank you ladies, it's just so disheartening sometimes when people aren't as they say or what you thought, I suppose its the same in life in general.
I have watched as people have started rising to the trot, in walk, after telling me they were experienced, getting on as the saddle is slipping to the point it is virtually under my youngsters tummy then trying to yank the saddle and rainsheet back into position from the other side (I intervened), massively over tightening elastic girths. Putting on the saddle about 4 inches too far back...I could go on. I see the disapproving looks from other liveries as I reject each person as they think i'm too fussy....but am I, I can't be there to watch over them and I don't want to. I want to be happy that they have great, safe homes.
It feels such a massive risk with my horses, they have been my children.

you can never been to harsh when your finding temp homes for your horses, you want them back knowing they have had the same love and care you would have gave them with you. im sure you will find a lovely loan home.

There's nothing wrong with being too fussy Anna. Hope you find someone who is suitable. Both your horses are nice, I like your chesi mare though!

Thanks, i've been looking for months and putting 'feelers' out, seen a few people but no one perfect as yet...maybe i'm too fussy!

Alliya went out on loan when i had jack and Poppy she had a fantastic loan home for 4 years, the problem is that at the moment just like selling as well there are just not the people avalable who are in a position to take on a horse. I do hope you find the right people but it might not be a quick thing to do

good luck with the baby

Are there....? I did have one years ago and she looked after her brilliantly and sent her back with more kit than she went with and rugs washed etc...and lots of tears as she was lame (no one's fault).

Thanks for the encouragement Linda, I can't believe how many people read posts and no one replies...
They are lovely horses and I am completely straight about them and their 'foibles'!
