Posted - 29 May 2010 : 11:11:48 AM Im thinking of putting my mare on a fly supplement and didnt know what one so was hoping for some recommendations please? Im dreading the horse fly period as they get bad where we are
Also just lately she has been getting watery sticky eyes, is this to do with flies, change of season etc? Its definatley not an infection as its not coloured and not angry looking. Just weepy.
When ridden she is constantly putting her head down and not concentrating much, im not sure however if this is more evasion as when pollen counts are low she still does it! But given a longer rein it seems to subside! Its just when being asked to work on a contact! I have bought a nose net and am waiting for delivery just in case.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Posted - 29 May 2010 : 12:07:25 PM Hi, mine get watery eyes in the summer due either to the flies or the sunlight. I put Cashel fly masks on them as they keep the flies off and cut out 70% of the UV rays - they do long one's that also protect pink noses (much easier than applying sunblock).
