It is with great sadness that I have had to say goodbye to my best friend, Chantilly Lady, (Anglo Arab x Cleveland Bay), after 17 years together she was quietly put to sleep on Friday the 21st May 2010 aged 28, she went to sleep in her huge field, laid in the long grass & buttercups, under the evening sun, I was fortunate enough to be able to lie with her & hold her & stroke her beautiful face until she had gone.
Some of you may remember her from the shows, where she brought me so much enjoyment & success & taught me all I know.
I am totally devastated but also, at the same time I am remembering ALL our good times, and there were plenty of those!!!
RIP my beautiful & precious lady. You are already sadly missed by many, see you at Rainbow Bridge old girl.xxxxxxxxxxxxx

My god I've been in tears reading all this. I've never experienced a horse being put down yet,even thinking about it happening to mine send me in tears. It was so sweet you laid with her. |

Have just seen your sad post and am so sorry at your loss. Having lost our beautiful 13 year old arab mare on 5th May, Mittens and I know what a difficult time this is. Whinney too was also pts in her field with us at her side. She too, is now in a lovely casket at Mitten's home and will always be by her side. RIP Chantilly Lady. |

This is the beautiful lady who is looking after me so well also after our recent sad loss, this is Aja Ningella, she is by Sandhiran & is a beautiful person!!!!!

Morning friends,
Thank you so much for all your lovely messages of support,  I am very lucky to have had such a special horse for so many happy years, Janet, she was by the Anglo 'Cloud Nine' who was by 'Scindian Magic'
out of 'Tuesday Rendezvous', she was an amazing cross, such elegance but yet so much spirit & personality!! As Marilyn & Natalie often found out when she was 'smiling' at the camera! Because of course the lovely 'Sweet Photography' crew had obviously been so kind as to turn up to be her personal photographer for the day!!! how kind!!!!

What a shame - I remember her well - but I didn't realise she was a Cleveland Bay X. She was a grand old lady and lucky to have such a devoted owner. Would that all could end their lives in such a peaceful way. |

How was she bred if you dont mind me asking, its that my old stallion Gabriel had a grand or great grand daughter named similar.

The memories make the loss easier to bear thankfully, I have her last shoe, how did you get it gold plated? that sounds amazing!! one of her (many) nicknames was Princess Tippy Toes because she was always so ladylike & spoilt rotten, being waited on hand & hoof like a princess!! so, a gold plated shoe would be very fitting!!

Oh Leanne I'm so sorry. She was a grand old lady and very lucky to have shared her life with you. I'm sure she loves you and would thank you for doing the right thing by her.
I still have Perissa too - in a mahogany box with her name on and her gold plated shoe.
