Posted - 22 Apr 2010 : 10:50:00 PM I am so chuffed with xsara, the penny has finally dropped in all aspects and she is a dream to ride at the moment. We took gizzy, xsara and sasha jumping tonight and the 3 went very well. Xsara jumped like a pro she is really learning how to get her feet out of the way and to round and jump her fences. She got her first ever double clear in the 60cm and then went in the 70cms we tipped the 3rd it on a tight corner and the only one we trotted over and then we knocked the 6th fence. It was a big red and white with a spread and she was comming into it slightly backing off it not so confident but i asked her to take it on got it all wrong and hit it comming up and took the whole fence out. But she went clear the rest of the course and went clear the second round getting the 6th fence perfectly. O and i even managed to loose my stirrup at the 5th in the 60cms, and jumped the 6th, 7th and 8th with no stirrup lol getting it back before i started the 2nd round lol. We then went out and did some flatwork in the enormous outdoor and she rode beautifully. She was very soft on the forehand walk trot and canter on the bit and she is taking to lengthening her stride across the diagonal very well. She was also doing her shoulder ins and leg yeilding, she is so obedient and does anything asked of her as long as she understands. Sorry for the rant but i am so chuffed with my baby lol i sometimes forget she is only four.
Sasha went into the 60cms and helen got the back poles taken off as she has never seen a coloured pole before and i think she has popped one small jump before. She went so well jumped round everything with out even looking at them. She is so calm and chilled now and is comming on so well. And gizzy she jumped double clear in the 70cms she was jumping them well clear but ins't just fit enough to be jumping the 80cms, though they weren't very much bigger than the 70cms, one hole as it was a big 70cms. craig took a couple of pictures maybe helen will get a couple up

Posted - 23 Apr 2010 : 3:13:35 PM Well done to you all. They sound like they are going to make good show jumpers
It's especially amazing as xsara is only 4... Ozzy is 5 now and we haven't even done trotting poles yet . We've stepped (or rather tripped and fell) over a few logs on the ground in the woods.
Can't wait to see the pics.
