Posted - 21 Apr 2010 : 07:01:28 AM We were absolutely thrilled that, our close friend, Gari Dill-Marlow aka ''Egbert'', whom many A liners may remember for her wise, and intuitive pedigree knowledge, and advice.....had a fantastic win with her gorgeous British bred stallion Rushan in Las Vegas!! He is now World Champion Stallion, 12 Years and Over!! It is FAB that an ordinary owner with no major canvassing and/or advertising can go and ''blow'' everyone away at such a prestigious show!! Us ''oldens'' might remember Rushan was the only Purebred to be named Supreme British National Champion as a yearling!! Bless him , he was 14 on March 26th !! GGOOO Gari and Rushan!! He is also very high percentage Crabbet breeding!! oxoxoxox This is a photo of him receiving his awards in Vegas:
And of him at home:

Posted - 22 Apr 2010 : 8:41:31 PM Gari, it is lovely to see you back on AL. You have been VERY much missed
Would you mind if I picked your brains on a suitable "husband" for my filly. At the moment I am thinking of African Emir for her for next year. She is on All Breeds but I am very much open to your suggestions!

Posted - 22 Apr 2010 : 10:43:27 AM Thank you all so very very much! Somewhere out there I know Pat and John are near!
There is also a bit of news to share with you. Matthew Gales as you all may know works for Brookville Arabians in Arizona. He has also loved Rushan very dearly and been a huge supporter. Well last year he asked the owners to allow him to lease Rushan for Brookville. It was under Brookville's and Matthew's management that he achieved such an important win. It has also enabled me to purchase a fabulous new home - an hour and a half out of Scottsdale where I can have all my horses under one roof! I am over the moon and Rushan will be able to come home as soon as we have the facilities up!
Thank you all so very very much for your blessed support!!!
Much love to all of you! Gari |

What a most beautiful stallion. The epitome of what an Arab should be, stunning, versatile and an owner's pet.
Go Rushan!! |

Posted - 21 Apr 2010 : 9:04:29 PM That is absolutely fantastic news for Gari and Rushan. I remember this boy so well at Malvern. He was stunning then and has just got better and better with age as so many of the really top arabians do. He is as close to my ideal arabian as it is possible to get. I remember there was a "for sale" next to his name in the catalogue. How much I would have loved to buy him , not enough pennies sadly, but I have never forgotten him and the goosepimples he gave me. I couldn't be more pleased for him and Gari at this success.
Marilyn, gosh was it really so many years ago when "they turned Malvern round". Just wasn't the same somehow despite being able to have the Malverns to look at. Can't believe how the years fly by |

Posted - 21 Apr 2010 : 8:51:11 PM Rushan is in fact Rusleem's brother not his son! I too remember him winning the Supreme Champion as a yearling and felt so sad that he was to leave the UK. However he has had a wonderful home and life with Gari in the USA. It was very emotional the more so because the Arab world lost a wonderful breeder, judge and ambassador in Pat Coward, Rushan's breeder. Congratulations to Gari |

Posted - 21 Apr 2010 : 5:21:03 PM Rushan was a star from the beginning - I can still see him winning everything as a yearling at Malvern - the year the show ground was the "other" way". We should have photographed him at home in the lovely Clytha Park except he went to Bath and West and won there and the following day he was flat out in his stable - he put his all into the show!!! Just like his sire Rusleem - fabulous movement! Well done!!!! |

Posted - 21 Apr 2010 : 2:16:55 PM Congratulations to all. Such a shame Pat and John Coward are not still with us to enjoy this news.
We had the honour to be Reserve to Rushan at the AHS Nationals with our Part-bred gelding Weirton Delfino. A day to remember.
