Posted - 18 Apr 2010 : 7:45:58 PM had lovely day at nwg show but why do some people find the need to make a noise to support their horses as they pass in the ring. this was the only upset of the day for me I am sure am not the only one that feels this way. besides that I found the show to be well run with a very friendly atmosphere |

Posted - 01 May 2010 : 9:32:22 PM Well done to the Wessex Committee! If you really object to this behaviour then get complaining to the Committees of all the shows you enter, if enough people request the behaviour to be stopped then they can hardly ignore it and will have to get rid of this awful practise! |

Posted - 30 Apr 2010 : 3:18:38 PM On behalf of the Wessex Committee I thank you for your remarks and support and hope that we can encourage more people to come back to showing at our shows so they and their horses can enjoy themselves as mine did on the day. Many of you may be aware that at the Summer Show we will be doing Classic Classes as well as the Modern Classes and hope that more people make the effort to show their horses as we used to.

Posted - 19 Apr 2010 : 5:01:46 PM Weldone wessex i know we all have our own opinions but mine is and always will be against any ringside distractions. I stood and watched intently at the nationals last year and all i could see was horse after horse breaking their lovely paces as soon as they encountered the noise from the spectators gallery. Come on folks let the lovely arab show itself!!! its much better at it |

Posted - 19 Apr 2010 : 08:27:20 AM Well done Wessex Show organisers, for taking the lead, banning all the unacceptable ringside mania and taking a stand against the ever increasing length of whips.
Much appreciated by those who wish to present their horses in the time honoured British method. Maybe we will once again be seeing Arabian horses showing their wonderful floating paces and standing up in a natural and relaxed manner

Posted - 18 Apr 2010 : 10:55:19 PM I have to say I attended the Wessex and was a bit apprehensive about it as previously had only attended Malvern and seen all of the whooping/banging/stamping and knew it would freak my boy out but was absolutely thrilled to find out that none of that would be had, and also if you had a whip it had to be no longer than 42 inches and yes they were measuring them - good to see that the Wessex is standing up for this it was a lovely show and I will be attending their summer show as well. Well Done Wessex ! |

Posted - 18 Apr 2010 : 10:12:06 PM Well, we went to the Wessex Show and it was announced that anyone banging or whooping would be removed from the arena. A very civilised show it was too and I personally didn't see anyone behaving badly whilst the horses were performing just a few shrieks as the placings were announced.
Well done the organisers.

Posted - 18 Apr 2010 : 9:26:53 PM Ringside interference, whooping and hollering should be banned!! Very unfair to exhibitors wishing to show their horses in a quiet and mannerly way.
Applaude by all means at the end of the class, when Judging is complete.

Nope I hate it, drives me mad and makes the horses break their rhythm everytime, completely pointless

Posted - 18 Apr 2010 : 8:29:06 PM I think you will find that people are reluctant to answer your thread as it has been posted before about ringside behaviour and it caused quite a furore!!! we all have our own opinions and it seems neither will budge. Weldone on your successful day |
