My name is Spencer Fielding i am the youngest son of the late Douglas James Fielding who founded Hurlingham Arabians in Brede East Sussex.
Brede Pita was one of our stallions i used to show from the age of 14.
I think I got round the over 18 law of showing a stallion because my age did not resemble my size.
My father who lived at Brede place founded Hurlingham with the help of a lady called Margaret Grealy who also lived in the village of Brede untill she died i believe at the ripe old age of over 100.I also believe that she was a life time member of the Arab horse Society having worked for them for a long time.but this part i could be mistaken on.
I am trying to trace the last place PITA was kept after he left Manor farm Stubb lane (the Stud).I sadly do not expect PITA (pain in the ass) to still be alive as I think he was born in 77/78 making him three years older than me.But having said that i would be very very pleased to find out where he went to from Manor and how he was etc.
Although he was owned by my father and cared for by Alan Duxburry my fathers Stud groom.Pita was always considered my horse by my father as he was a true gentle chap who would allow me to handle him with a head collar and lead rope from a childs age of about ten. Most probably due to all the polo's i gave him whilst mucking his stable out!.
I do have pictures of his mother Silvern Melody still and of PITA I will post to my profile on hear asap.
PITA was named (pain in the ass) by my father who one year in the late 70's had his stud groom Alan came in to the office and tell him the news that his final expectant mare had just had a colt!. The six mares that just fold prior to this all had fillies so Pita being the odd one out =(pain in the ass). or so my father thought. It just so happens that he turned out to be anything but a pain in the ass,something that brought laughter to my father every time he told the story of Pita.

He was such a kind and soft chap who was so adored by his groom - who I believe rode him to Manchester or suchlike. I saw him at Brede place before it was up for sale.
I remember Margaret Grealy and often wonder what happenned to her 2 mares that were left?
