Posted - 11 Mar 2010 : 12:59:28 PM If a foal wins their class at the National Show, Malvern, does he/she automatically have the title of BNC? The reason for the question is that our foal in 1993 won the PBA Foal Class and I wondered if he could claim the title of BNC PBA Foal? |

Posted - 11 Mar 2010 : 9:48:58 PM In the back of the schedule there is a full list each year of which championships are entitled to call themselves BNC.
This is regularily ignored by some people
And some people "invent" titles - for instance i have seen adverts - British National Reserve Champion yearling filly. - when in actual fact what they were was Reserve best yearling filly. no mean feat - but even so they would have had to be the reserve filly (i.e from the one two & three year olds) - to get the BNC bit.
Will get even more confusing this year - as we have had to include the ECAHO's Gold Silver & bronze system as well.

Posted - 11 Mar 2010 : 1:58:28 PM Hazel - there is a foal championship where the first placed foals compete against each other for the championship title. If you want to verify the position for the year your foal won then ring the AHS office I am sure they will be able to check the records for you. Also if you have that years AHS News they used to issue a full list of the show results and champions in that. |
