Posted - 02 Mar 2010 : 3:07:37 PM three o clock and it's already getting cold in Devon....Put Mirage out without a rug, she has more than enough "natural insulation" but her mum will need the warmth tonight!...Tarac still rugged too, although i think he's getting all hot and bothered by the girlies next door! Not mine i hasten to add...he shares a haynet with his daughter when she is in season and never makes a sound! we all want SUN! |

Posted - 02 Mar 2010 : 11:15:12 AM Beautiful here too - mine are out naked for the second day - very brave of me as Tikka is (was) almost white with a lovely silky mane thanks to her Snuggy Hood. Now she looks deadful But oh, how they LOVED having their rugs off - they really seemed so happy to be free again. |

Posted - 01 Mar 2010 : 6:26:40 PM Absolutely beautiful here in Kent. And I was very grumpy being stuck in the office when I'd rather have been riding! |

Posted - 01 Mar 2010 : 6:11:57 PM Stunning in Bucks too !
I nearly started a thread yesterday saying that I just couldn't cope with the awful weather for much longer, but what a difference a day makes!! Absolutely glorious, spent ages pottering around the yard which is a first since who knows when .
I rode this morning with just a jumper on (well few more items but less than I've worn for the last 6 months!).
K was very full of beans, think I need to cut back this build up feed a bit as doing its job too well. She was so keen but I had keep her in walk the whole time as we are both very unfit . She just wanted to do this on the road and this on the grass, I keep telling her that she is 19 years old in a month but she just tells me that she ain't bovvered !

Posted - 01 Mar 2010 : 3:09:26 PM ground still very wet though, i may regret letting them feel the sun on their backs when they come in looking like a cross with a wart hog after rolling about in the mud having fun. charisma's grandson dirty harry (AA)already had a go in the mud and is living up to his name. |

Posted - 01 Mar 2010 : 3:08:39 PM Same here in Somerset - but it is not likely to last. More rain on its way. The mares picked their way through the mud to get to a field this morning and are enjoying a day out but it probably won't last long. Di |

Posted - 01 Mar 2010 : 3:07:27 PM I went home at lunchtime to clear the poo; it's real riding without a coat weather, bright warm sunshine. I'd have loved to take off the rugs but by the time I got home it'd be dark and they'd be cold and probably so camoflauged by the mud I wouldn't be able to find them!!
More of this weather please!!
I wonder what's happening to the horses out in those flooded fields in France? |
