It has been the driest summer in about 140yrs; (2mm rain). Today the last day of summer the temp reached 40.C . March can be a stinker also. I visited Rusleema, and being a Pom she is still shedding coat. I took a few picts, although she wasn't happy about going out into the sun from her shade and bovine companions. I've reduced the size of the picts so I'll be keen to see how they turned out. |

Posted - 02 Mar 2010 : 07:56:17 AM she would have been awesome with Charismma, what a shame you didnt get her to me, the little bay in jaj's signiture is by him as well oh well it was never meant to be having that blood down there would have been the icing on the cake for crimbo in his old age |

Posted - 01 Mar 2010 : 9:43:28 PM I had a bit of a chuckle; I had heard you had a lousy winter. In a lot of ways you people have it hard, with the freezing winters and the lack of space. The problems some are having with yarding (is that what you call it). We aggist here too,but thankfully R has her own 12acres to run in even if she's 100 kms from where I live. She's in foal to Shangrala Ibd Sidu; quite a nice stallion but not my 1st choice, but it's a long story. I envy you people in the choices you have at your doorstep. Perth is the most isolated city in the world; the next state is 1200 miles away. In a way it's like living in a black hole.
Lindilou , I think she would have gone ok with Charismma. When I purchased her I left her with her breeder for another 7 mths hoping to bring her home in foal, but there seemed to be too many obstacles. I also considered G Iridis. |

Posted - 01 Mar 2010 : 2:25:04 PM Are you taking the Mickey Attilio?? We've had the wettest, muddiest and coldest winter I can remember for AGES!!
I don't think we'd want it as hot as you - burning to a crisp - but most of us are really looking forward to the longer days and warmer weather now. Most of us have mud fever and we're the humans!!!

Posted - 01 Mar 2010 : 1:36:08 PM I am a little concerned that she may be putting on too much condition. Apart from what's in the paddock and the hay bale she gets about as much lucerne chaff as can be grasped between two hands , a scoop of vitamins and minerals a little molasses and water to damp it a little. I'm thinking of asking my cousin to knock off the lucerne for a week or two to see how she goes. She is nearly 4 mths in foal. Any comments? |

I read your title thinking 'ooh, goody, is this what us 'Poms' are predicted?' But I think that is a bit too hot |
