Posted - 02 Mar 2010 : 1:31:29 PM She has arrived - bless her. She walked off the trailer rather wearily on Sunday afternoon. She had travelled really well considering the length of her journey and I both thank and can fully recommend Cloe (transporter) for taking such good care of her. Also to Kate who travelled with her part of the way until she had settled.
We went for a little walk yesterday and did a brief training session - she responded so quickly - such a bright spark. Here is a picture of all 4 of my "big girls" in their stables just before it went too dark to take photos. Will take more pics when she has settled in.

Posted - 26 Feb 2010 : 12:41:41 PM Hi Janet
Paleogeia was indeed also bred (as Delyth suggested) to a straight egyptian sire, the lovely KZ Ibreez. The result was a beautiful filly, SG Petra, now owned by a lady in Scotland who is delighted with her (Petra and Paleogeia below..)
Palemira is also more than half sister to Claire Ford's stallion, SG Palesstreem (by Essteem) who is currently doing great things on the ridden circuit. There is also SG Portia, a beautiful bay 5 year old mare by Jullyus JJ out of Paleogeia still down at Georgian Arabians.
Its lovely to hear that Palemira has such a lovely home and whatever you do with her I am sure you will have great fun! Keep us posted on how she settles in?
Best regards,
Mary |

Posted - 25 Feb 2010 : 5:16:03 PM She should produce some fantastic babies for you, Paleogeia's dam Piala is a full sister to Panagia (dam of Balaton) Pula, Pudra etc. Classic Aswan breeding on a Salon daughter - google away, the finest Russian breeding !! Breed her to a Straight Egyptian ;) |

Posted - 25 Feb 2010 : 5:01:45 PM I can't see the pictures, but ditto Tina's comments above. Paleogeia is an absolute sweetheart and one of the biggest movers I've ever seen. I recall leading her back to the stables after Susan had shown her at Bicton a couple of years ago, and at the ripe old age of about 22, she literally danced along beside me.
Emir is absolutely stunning and one of the most like his grandpa, Essteem, that I've seen. Moves like a steamtrain! She should certainly be able to trot!!! I hope you have many happy years with her |

Posted - 25 Feb 2010 : 4:58:44 PM What am I going to do with her?? Well, to be honest, I have been so excited it hasn't really sunk in yet. I keep pinching myself to make sure it is real. A lot will depend on her. She doesn't like travelling - her first experience with me in the trailer was not good (only a few hundred yards). So, will she end up tolerating travel or not?? I will have to form a bond with her and see how we go. Would like to do a couple of in-hand shows, but I am too crotchety to run round the ring and I prefer the old style of showing in hand. Don't know much about in hand shows these days. I will also have to try and lose weight or I might flatten her! If she has the temperament I would like to do western riding with her. Breeding a couple of foals may be on the cards. She is just so beautiful... sorry it hasn't sunk in yet! Any ideas folks??? I met her mum and she is very laid back. Good racing lines though, and what movement. Her sire needs no introduction and her pedigree reads like a horses Whos Who for royalty. Oooooo, can't wait to get her home. |

Posted - 25 Feb 2010 : 2:38:17 PM Well done, it is indeed SG Palemira. I feel so honoured to have been allowed to buy this very special young lady. My thanks go to Susan & Simon for all their help and advice.
She looks a bit woolly now in the deep mid winter, but watch out for more pics soon.
