The CA website has moved to a new server with a broader band so we now have faster downloading :

http://www.cerebellar-abiotrophy.org/

We are also pleased to say that over 500 entries have been made on the CA Status List.
Including a first time result from a deceased stallion by using frozen semen.
Our applause to Rojo Arabians for their support and efforts with VERSACE !!
And his dam!

Also with over 1000 horses tested at UC Davus alone, new statistics are now available as to the presence of Carriers and Affecteds within the Arabian breed worldwide.

Check it out.

All AL members,

It is important to have the correct country of residence so please if there are mistakes, post the number of the horse and the correct country of residence.

Many Thanks,

Lisa

It would however be useful for someone like me who is scanning the record to see what 'local' horses are available that have been tested - also, if any UK carriers are listed it may just act as a prompt to British owners to get their horses tested too!

Lisa,

Please don't worry about changing the country we come from unless you need to for your records. We don't mind at all except I really hate my surname, thankfully it is no relation to Ted.
Our surname comes from the Huguenots!!!

That'll be it, then, Sue.

I'd also like to congratulate Lisa on this excellent site - a great tool for breeders.

My filly Panndora is tested C/A NN clear also scid clear. There are several other british horses on the site including Ahanu a straight egyptian stallion, also Adawy and Premier although residing abroad both are owned by Emma Maxwell.
I personally would not use any mare or stallion for breeding unless tested. As Sue says it will at least prevent an affected foal being born.
I do think that there are an amazing amount of people who seem oblivious to the problem. It is not just stallions who need testing, but also mares.
The list makes very interesting reading especially the dam of Versace, Precious as Gold being C/A carrier.Of course it makes no differance to the breeding of such horses as long as you test, that way we can eliminate breeding an affected foal.
What would we have done without the efforts of Lisa and the new website kindly put up by jetnet ?May I congratulate you all for your continued efforts.

Sue,

Sorry about that. I have requested a change of country and if you could give me the numbers of any other British resident horses that have mistaken country, I would really appreciate it.

Many Thanks,
Lisa

There are quite a few British horses on there including mine. Mostly small owners like me.

Maybe we can afford to check as we don't have so many to test? I think it cost me about £89 to test, might be wrong!! but not a lot to pay out really.
I would not use a stallion unless I knew his status, positive or negative makes no difference to me but at least I would know.

I think a huge congratulations to Lisa for the new site it is brilliant.

p.s.

Unless the owner of the horse has reported publically the CA Status of his or her horse, or filled in the submission form on site, tested or confirmed carrier or affected horses will not appear on the CA status list. If there are no english horses it is because: 1) They have not tested their horse.
2) Horses have been tested but owner does not want to disclose publically.
3) Owners may not know of the CA Website.

Spread the word.
Testing for CA prior to making beeding selections is the responcible way to breed.

Can't seem to see any British horses on the list?

There is a Latifah listed, but it is not Latifah AHSB (different horse entirely)
