Posted - 06 Jan 2010 : 12:18:58 PM It was back in early October I last posted a bit of information about Shah Royle, (by The Shah), still being alive, at 33 years old. Sadly, on the morning of Christmas Eve he was quietly put to sleep in his stable as we sat with him. I feel Shah had almost taken the decision out of our hands and made it himself. I had often said, over the past couple of years, despite Shah looking his age, if he eats well, and can still take himself to the field in the morning, and back to the stable at night, and enjoy watching the other horses, particularly the mares, he is enjoying life. A few days before he had gone off his food, and that morning he refused to get up, and we knew the time had come. It was a somewhat sad Christmas without Shah, but there is comfort in the fact that he had reached a great age, and had spent virtually all of his life in the same home, where he could see everything that went on from his field or stable. Shah is now burried in his field, where we would like to think he still rules the roost!

He leaves you with many cherished memories which I`m sure with the passing of time, will bring back the smiles, as you reminisce on the wonderful times you have shared together

Posted - 06 Jan 2010 : 1:38:38 PM I am deeply sorry to read that you magnificent lad has passed away. His sire was truly one of the great ones and I am sure his son was just as magnificent. As the others have said, how wonderful it was that he shared so long with you, so many horses never have the security of a permanent home. I am sure life is sad and empty for you now, but in time I hope the memories you made together bring smiles and lighten your heart. R.I.P. Shah Royle. Run free with the Angels. |

Posted - 06 Jan 2010 : 1:33:31 PM So very sad but it sounds like he had the most wonderful life with you over many years. My girl is coming 32 and i feel exactly the same as you did, as long as they seem contented you go with them, but it is still so very very sad when that time comes and you loose your special friend.
RIP Shah Royle.xxx |
