Hi

I would like to show you my little section D gelding- not Arab but still very beautiful!

What he has been through is quite horrendous, he is 18 months old, he was 17 months when I had him, a dealer had him advertised for sale as a ridden horse, when I enquired further I was sent photos of him being ridden

I had to talk my other half in to having him, and by the time I had and got back in touch with the dealer sadly I was told he had now been sold- I was gutted as I'd had a really strong feeling about him and was convinced he was meant to come to me, a few days went by and I just couldn't put him out of my head I was praying he had gone to a good home, then I had a phone call from the girl that had bought him asking if I wanted to buy him!
I was very suspicious at first I though it was a scam or if not that there was something wrong with the horse, but after speaking to her a couple of times I believed it was genuine, she didn't know much about horses and had bought the horse for her 4 year old daughter to ride.... obviously a huge mistake the little girl didn't like the horse, the girls partner had hit the roof and said she had to return the horse, they didn't seem to have a clue what to do with him and how to look after him, anyway the dealer wouldn't have him back- he had already filled the stable but he gave them my phone number and told them they could try speaking to me....

He was destined to come to me after all, a few days later he arrived, in a sorry state, under weight, full of worms, lice and on top of that he had a cold and a chest infection
A few weeks on and he is well on the way to recovery!

Here he is now enjoying a run round out in the snow

Thanks Angel, hopefully he'll be OK I don't think they were riding him long, and I certainly wont be attempting to do any ridden work with him till he's 4, in the mean time he can have lots of chilling out and be a baby

Cammarch- Thanks, he has lots of Derwen and Nebo in him, he's by a lovely stallion called 'Nanteglwys Talisman'.

Here is a link to his pedigree- http://allbreedpedigree.com/llanstephan+taliesin

My blood has boiled what a selfish stupid person the dealer is, You and your family on the other hand are Saints all your horses are very lucky
cammarch Posted - 09 Jan 2010 : 8:06:31 PM
He looks really nice, what is his breeding, have couple of D mares myself, this goes on regular at the local sale (
Llanybydder) often see youngsters going through which have still got so much maturing to do before they carry weight on their backs
Bex Posted - 08 Jan 2010 : 3:05:08 PM
Thank you
I am very lucky too, he is so lovely very sweet and easy, he's not actually that cheeky for a section D, although that may develop later!!!
I didn't put any pic's on as he was before I got him, here are some taken by the dealer - they had clipped his head as well and his chest

And a couple more of him with me in his new home-

Lovely young boy!!!
He is one very lucky horse!

How wonderful you were able to get him and give him the life he deserves. He doesn't look real in those photos, more like a big fluffy toy! Bet he's a right little so-and-so though (you have to be the right sort of person to take on a Sec D and I know I'm not, LOL!).

Oh bless him, what a lovely expression he has and looks to have nice paces!

Definitely a lucky chap to end up with you !

xsara Posted - 05 Jan 2010 : 9:30:39 PM
he is very nice so glad he has found an understanding caring home where he can be a youngster and enjoy his child hood. I know someone who baked there youngster at 18months and worked him with an excuse he is a stallion and needs kept underline. The poor thing was so weak and would fret, and it fell one day when riding it in a circle lost balance and fell. She was boosting it was jumping a metre at 3 it has bowed legs, creaky joints poor thing then had the cheek to offer a free service to my mare to prove him as a sire. i feel sorry for the horses that end up with people like this and have no feelings for the horse and glad your boy is so lucky to have found you well done on taking him on

A very smart boy indeed!!!! and what a lucky chap to have found you
pintoarabian Posted - 05 Jan 2010 : 8:04:52 PM
He is a lovely boy indeed. Sometimes, you just know when something is meant to be and you were right to go with your feelings. I am sure that he will reward you for your kind act of rescuing him from an uncertain fate. Well done!
Mrs Vlacq Posted - 05 Jan 2010 : 7:37:49 PM
He's lovely! When the time is right he will be a very 'useful sort' of ridden horse, but he looks like a typical cheeky lad and should enjoy his youth. Well done for getting him back on track
Quarabian Posted - 05 Jan 2010 : 7:33:24 PM
Well done. What a happy ending. This chap is obviously not a reputable dealer. What's the cob's name 'Lucky'?

Bex Posted - 05 Jan 2010 : 7:29:55 PM
Thanks very much everyone
He will definitely be left now to be a baby and I will not attempt to do any ridden work with him until he at least 4, I think he needs plenty of chilling out time!
Might try doing some in hand showing with him though as he really likes to show off and his tail is always right up in the air when he's moving, but we'll see how he is and how he grows.
Becci.
jo78 Posted - 05 Jan 2010 : 7:07:27 PM
Thank goodness you got him, fate has a funny way of working things out! It was meant to be, and as previously said, he will be allowed to be a baby and mature before anything is asked of him ridden wise.

Some people just dont have a clue or dont give a s**t about the poor animal, only the money they can make out of people that just know any better.

Am really happy for you, and your new baby!

What a fabulous young cob. I lost my Secion D, Monty, in 2006 at the age of 28. He had been my friend for 23 years. They are absolutely super riding animals. I hope you have a long and very happy life together.
Cate Posted - 05 Jan 2010 : 6:52:26 PM
What a lovely boy he is and so fortunate you have him. All the best for the future with him. He looks as though he's going to be a cracker.
