help we ave to horses for sale on here, we sold the filly as soon as she was advertised. Yesterday we had a phone call from someone in sweden wanting her, but when we said we had sold her but there is another one for sale he asked for more info.He told me that he would want to see pics and that he had a transporter coming over next week which he wanted to fill it. Hes phoned quite a few times and emailed us but what do we do? we have sold the filly now but he is now enquiring about the stallion. home far more important that money!!!!!! |

no i don't no wot happened i think he was sold two a lady who has a few Arabs, i only have the space for 4 horses at the mo, but two big stallions would be two much work, my mavrick my be 20 but has lost none of his fire, hes 1 of the best things Ive ever bought, i new and he new as soon as our eyes meet we were meant to be together. the over was a bay and just as lovey but i don't like the colour, mav is the closed thing ill ever get two a unicorn, |

That is right, it can be done. But I think you generally get a feel about someone. Which questions they ask and just comments that are made.
I really feel that Jamana has gone to the best possible home that she could have gone to, and I would not have let her go otherwise.
Another thing that I had not considered was the pressure it puts on you when you have told the possible buyer how nice your horse is. I can't beleive how nervous I was the first time Keren saw jamana, I mean, what if she hadn't liked her and had come all the way down and had already paid me for her! Luckily Jamana was even better than her photos and everyone was happy 
Be very aware, but do not dismiss out of hand. Use any contacts that you can to find out info about the possible buyer. Unfortunatley the reality is that once you have sold a horse you lose control of it's future, the only way to guarantee that is to keep the animal yourself forever.

Al-er Jamana sold Jamana-the-filly sight unseen to me over the internet, but we are both very happy how it has turned out!
However, we had been 'talking' to each other for a long time beforehand

Whether it is a scam or not, I'd not sell a horse of mine to someone I've never met to a place I've not checked out. Furthermore, if that person called me regarding a particular horse, and was then happy to take any other unseen, I'd assume it was a dealer.
The only exception being when the person is well known and trusted, such as Gerry. |

Another truly distasteful story  and by no means a new one in my experience, which seems to highlight the need for the all-too-trusting and sellers alike to BEWARE! Always check out who you're selling or giving to! As it turns out, one of the horses seems to have found a good home. All the previous owner did was to do herself out of the money. i bought my Arab from a dealer, he was given them in good faith bye the previous owner, he told her that they were for him and how he was going keep them for ever, show them and stud them, it was all a lie, they were both sold as soon as he got them home, i got one hes a gr8 boy i feel 4 anyone that gets scammed but sum endings are happy ones,  |

Mmmm, well......I disagree in part, as I bought a mare off here and because I am in France and could not get home to view and had no one that could go and look at her for me, I trusted the lady who was selling her as much as she trusted me and I bought her she has a forever home, has plenty of food, love and care and I KNOW that she could not have a better home than with me anywhere in the world, as my horses are my life along with my dogs cats and chickens, they all come before the humans in this house, so just because someone is buying from abroad and sight unseen does not necessarily mean that they will not love the horse as much as anyone who could view before buying |

if you don't need the space or the money then never sale two ency 1 you don't no. i only have my Arab cuz of a scam, I'm happy but the prev owner is very sad that she got done, |

I have replied to you, Yes it is the same person, I believe he is a dealer!
He has been trying to fill that lorry since last year!!
I did not sell to him & he did get quite annoyed,

BE VERY AWARE.......I AM SURE IT IS A SCAM!!
Had similar experience (not that I would sell a horse abroad anyway) Seemed such a gentleman until I suggested he was a scammer....and my word,  the language was unrepeatable!!! He certainly did not like being found out.

This sounds very familiar to a scam that was going around a couple of years ago, contact babsR at sunray stud as she knows all about it. |

Its probably the same person thats been lurking around before.
If he already owns arabians the swedish registry will tell you.

I agree with Lynda. I would not be prepared to let a horse go to someone who I'd not met and didn't know what kind of home it was going to. I would be asking a lot more and wanting them to check the horse out and explain their commitment rather than just loading it up and taking it unseen. I'd certainly want the money in the bank before I let the horse go too. |

I dont want to sound rude, but how desperate are you to sell the filly. You dont say if he is wanting her for himself or to sell on. Could you really trust your horse to someone you have have not met?
As to the money, I wonder if a bank transfer would be quicker and safer.
Sorry if this sounds harsh but once she's gone she's gone. Incidently. I am looking for a horse, which one is she on the website? I will take a look.

Perhaps you could ask for some references you could then check up on - or a vet's reference? If he deals with horses he must surely have a vet - even if its in Sweden. And when you've got references check them out. And afterall you want to make sure that your horse is going to a good home and you're not left with an empty stable and no money. Quite honestly the offer of a card number is suspisious. It could be a fake - and what good is a card number to you anyway. Make sure you have actual money in the bank or in hand before the horse goes. After all you're a sitting duck. He knows where you are but do you know where he is or who he is? Once the horse has left you, it's gone.
This person may well be bona fide but you really need to check him our throroughly before selling particularly since he is in such haste and there are so many on the market. If he's got nothing to hide he will come up with the information you need. Yes .... in this day-and-age, seller be very aware! Hope it goes well or not at all. Good Luck! ...... Rose Ennik |

If you want to PM me his name I can ask around for you as I know many people in the Scandanavian area with Arabs. Maybe genuine but buying sight unseen seems abit odd and especially after the Kuwait thread it really is seller beware now !! |
