Posted - 27 Dec 2009 : 8:39:10 PM He's 322kg - roughly the weight for a 14hh
1 pound = 0.45359237 kilograms
or
1 kilogram = 2.20462262 pounds
See link to a feed merchants guide. According to this, you should be aiming for a weight of around 450kg which is 992lbs

Posted - 27 Dec 2009 : 7:19:54 PM He sounds like hes under weight but if you go by what you can see then thats a good start. It depends on his build/height/workload as to what his ideal weight should be.
To give you some idea my 14.3hh arab mare is about 400kg, my other 14.2hh arab mare is over weight and shes about 500kg! my 14hh part bred arab mare (24yrs) is about 320kg.
Hope that helps.
If you look on the internet on various feed websites they give an average weights compared to breed/height. |
