Posted - 19 Dec 2009 : 11:26:20 PM I guess you all know about my last few weeks with friend badly injured under my horse box ramp and my darling Sam only last week. On Tuesday it was my works Christmas do and as it had cost £44 i decided it would do me good to go. It was a theme night in a marquee in Trafford Park Manchester. Course it wasn't sign posted and I had two people telling me where to go. After three times round the block i decided to turn round and turned left to go onto a car park....Er what car park? it was a train track and i bottomed the car! I was panic struck! it was a drop of about 9 ins on to the rails. Luckily the two men who where with me managed to push me off. When my friend (16 stone) got out of the car it cleared the rail!! I was sooo scared i had done some damage but it was ok. When i eventually parked up some bars***d had kicked my mirror off and taken it. My mates all said what bad luck I'd had and that it would surely lift in the new year..... On Thursday Carol's (Dinkidoo) Children have got a terrible dose of flu and both her cars are off the road. Can it get any worse? Course it can! I have been doing the other 4 single handed and working 30 miles away too. On Thursday the snow fell whilst I was feeding them. The farm where we stable is about half a mile down a tricky lane. I got my clapped out corsa home my the skin off its teeth. Honey bee (Claire) kindly fed on Friday as she had finished school. Friday night she warned me not to go past the cattle grid. So trying to execute a three point turn I went into a ditch which was snow covered and sunk to my axel!!!!!!!!!! I walked to the farm, fed the ponies and struggled in the dark with sacks of straw trying to get it out. My phone was dying so I phoned carol (Without her car) and she phoned super Claire to pull me out with her super shogun! She towed me backward up the lane to safety. This morning walking to the farm not daring to risk my car again i fell on my bad knee and lay in the snow howling with pain and frustration. Ah well what else could possibly go wrong? Did you guess? No water!!! I asked the farmer if there was a way to defrost as it was -6 degrees and he said ....no! Finally someone managed to get an internal tap to work and i had to lug 18 buckets miles to water my lot and put some by for tomorrow. Can't take much more think I'll stay in bed tomorrow. Any one got a four leaf clover? |

Posted - 21 Dec 2009 : 10:14:12 AM Mum is resting now on drs orders for 6 weeks so i have managed to get down lane today in my trusty Freelander (minus its MOT) in incredibly thick snow. Have got everything done and tap was working Horses seem very content and they now have massive beds, huge nets and everything left ready for the lovely lady who is going to do them for us this evening. I can't risk taking the kids later as they are too poorly to walk down the lane if i get stuck. Feel much better having done the horses myself knowing that mum is safely indoors!! |

Posted - 20 Dec 2009 : 8:37:14 PM Oh Alice...you should have stayed in bed. You have been so unlucky. I hope you can get some help - there's no way you can lug 18 buckets of water with a broken wrist.
Sending big hugs and best wishes for a speedy recovery - 2010 has GOT to be better xxx |
