Posted - 14 Nov 2009 : 10:23:19 PM We ignored the weather forecast today to take one of our mares to a show in Kent. We went to the South Eastern Welsh Pony and Cob show with Emira, for her first ridden show, in the recently backed group (over 13H2"). She was in a class of Mountain & Moorland ponies, and the judge was a National Champion with M&Ms.
We were a little concerned the judge would place an arab towards the wrong end of the class, and she has only been ridden for 32 days.
Lovely girl, in a class of six, placed first. She went really well (most of the time - have to give some honesty) and was the only not to be scared of a judge walking around her. Nancy Burroughs, who rides Mazie for us, backed her and rode her so well.
Only down side was the video camera had a flat battery for some reason, and it was too dark inside to get any good photos. And there was a two hour delay on the way home on the M25 as the Bridge was closed.
