Has anyone had experience of treating pulled ligaments in the knees?
My horse Seka had had on and off lameness problems for a fair few months now, she's had 3 months complete rest, a course of shockwave treatment at newmarket and various other treatments with the local horse vets but still isn't quite right. Some days she'll be sound on the road other days lame in the paddock.
Anyone got any other ideas? the vets are thinking possible bute every other day for life but as we had a horse a few years back whose death was linked to excessive bute use by a previous owner we're very wary of that. |

Rossdales are fantastic mind I have had dealing with them also and they were fantastic, the MRI scan was great at the AHT was great. |

She's currently under the care of Rossdale and partners in newmarket, if they can't come up with something we may go to AHT though cos we've had horses there before and they were pretty impressive. |

I also had a horse under Sue dyers care for an MRI Scan she was brilliant and told me the truth it was good news for us mind
The AHT were fantastic and our boy came home happy and looking a million dollars. |

Think she had that before the shockwave treatment, she stayed for a couple of days while they did a load of tests with her. Our local horse vet is contacting the newmarket people again to see if they can come up with other ideas. The insurance is paying out for her treatment so if that hasn't been done then we'll certainly be asking about it. |

have you gone down the MRI scan route? sometimes its the only way to truly see what's going on .
I fail to see how a vet can prescribe permanent bute for a horse when they have no diagnosis as to why its lame  surely they need to do more investigating?? ( thats not because I'm against it, I have one on permanent bute and has been for 3 years now)
I had a mare to see Sue Dyson at the Animal Health Trust in Newmarket , she's one of the best there is but tells it brutally how it is so be prepared to hear it being told straight 
MRI is an amazing diagnostic tool and should give you some proper answers if your prepared to pay for them ( its about £2k)
