Posted - 12 Nov 2009 : 9:09:39 PM Magic came in yesterday minus a shoe and lame. Im guessing she pulled it off in the mud and twisted something. I've checked her foot and can't see any cuts on her leg so am treating with box rest and bute. The farrier is coming tomorrow to re shoe but I her fetlock is puffy and warm. Would a magnetic wrap be of any help? I know some people swear by them but I've never needed to use one before now. |

Posted - 13 Nov 2009 : 9:45:57 PM Had farrier out today and he thinks it might be an infection in her hoof. Today I had to learn how to poultice a foot! Never had to before. He wants to rule it out before putting her shoe on. She's still hopping lame but does weight bare on it. My farrier has told me to ring him Sunday night and if nothing has come out of the hoof he will re shoe her on Monday. I am so worried though, Magic has never been lame before. |

I use leg wraps and a magnetic rug when I need too.

Posted - 12 Nov 2009 : 11:57:10 PM A magnetic wrap could well help with the swelling - I have used them for this in the past and they have been successful - I put them on for 12 hours at a time. It certainly won't do any harm |
