Posted - 11 Nov 2009 : 7:25:19 PM Hi,
I thought some of you might like to watch this video of us having fun on the beach this summer!
I am on Sherry, the grey (By Zaracz, ex Ringing Eostre) and my step daughter is on Rocket (25% arabian, reg British Riding Pony, by Oakley Pippin, ex Trellech Ladybird).
They both love galloping, but only Rocket likes swimming - can't believe Bethan kept her tack on in the water though! Good job it's a synthetic!

Posted - 17 Nov 2009 : 6:07:36 PM Love the video - one thing I miss having moved back to the deep south is the amazing beaches in the NE of Scotland - we never managed to get ours in any deeper than their knees so very impressed with Rocket!! |

Posted - 12 Nov 2009 : 6:28:33 PM I love the sound of the galloping hooves! What fun; takes me back to my childhood living just near the sea.
I remember getting such a row from my Mum for swimming my Connemara/Arab in the sea with her new saddle on!! |

Posted - 12 Nov 2009 : 6:23:38 PM Seeing as you asked!
This is Sharma (Silver Hussar). Now 23 and still up for a gallop!
(And a free shot of Marygold because she's so cute!)
Your beach looks fantasic. I thought it looked like Scotland - beautiful - yet empty! |

The pony looks wonderful trotting back out of the sea through the waves - would look stunning in slow motion! |

Posted - 12 Nov 2009 : 12:19:51 PM I'm glad you all like it! It brings me great memories of sunshine too!!
Gemma - I'd love to see pictures of your boy The beach we are on is Lossiemouth West Beach in Moray, Near Elgin.
Quarabian - Yey for spotting our elkhound! We got her as a rescue dog from the RSPCA aged 18months (now 7yo) - they said she was 3/4 Elkhound, but having seen internet pictures of other elkhounds, I think she must be almost purebred. Also, we now know why she loves circling the horses all the time - apparently that is how they keep the elks from escaping until they can be caught!

Posted - 11 Nov 2009 : 9:48:21 PM Lovely - and what a pretty beach! Where are you?
Also, your mare is out of the same dam as my Mum's gelding Silver Hussar (Vain Hussar x Ringing Eostre). In fact, I have some pics of him on the beach as well if you'd like to see them? |
