Posted - 07 Nov 2009 : 9:57:03 PM thats awful Nikki I feel so bad for you. If CCTV is a bit pricey you could aways put some dummy cameras up with some signs. The thieves wont know that the cameras arent hooked up, and def mark all your rugs up... thats a great idea.
Hope they catch the idiots! |

Posted - 05 Nov 2009 : 5:26:07 PM I know how you feel. We work hard for some scumbag to take what they want. Last year I had a new takka contout taken of my 27yr olds back. I make all my rugs look a complete mess now. Huge postcode on them. My name, freezemark. Anything. They look horrible, but so far I still have them. We went to collect the water bowser at the weekend to refill and, wait for it....................................................... somebody had stolen the electrics!! |

Posted - 05 Nov 2009 : 2:31:41 PM I have all my rugs painted with my postcode in huge letters on both sides. White is best. This year they did not take them but took other thins and the year before they dump[ed on the local common and so I had them back. The only rugs that were missing both times were the ones without the postcode. |

Posted - 04 Nov 2009 : 7:41:21 PM vile, vile people! Would be interesting to know though... is it a horse owner or someone trying to make a fast buck! Hope you catch the low life scum. |

Posted - 04 Nov 2009 : 4:29:17 PM I'd get some cctv signs and stick them up anyway, right away. In the hope it might just warn them off. As if it's not expensive enough, really feel for you. xx |

Posted - 04 Nov 2009 : 1:48:39 PM Good grief Nikki!! I'm really sorry to read this! Chances are it's most definately the same person that is stealing from you and your horses! It sends a shiver down my spine to think of low life like that anywhere near my horses....grrrrr A word of caution re the use of CCTV...make sure you have signs clearly displayed that you are using the equipment as they can get off on a technicality in court if you don't! |

Posted - 04 Nov 2009 : 12:02:24 PM sucks doesn't it! my own fault i just hadn't got round to marking these rugs. i've done my buckets though so they left them luckily i just got my shed door replaced, nice thick osb board, so like to see them kick that down! my uncle is a copper and has got me some alarms for my shed, just need to get a camera on my drive so i can get a numberplate to see who it is. only a matter of time before they get caught... |

Posted - 04 Nov 2009 : 12:00:34 PM I know its not a brill idea, but, is there anyway you could write your post code on the rugs in huge letters and numbers,in a dye that won't come off and if large enough it would not be worth the theives cutting them off as there would not be much rug left????? |

Posted - 04 Nov 2009 : 11:51:36 AM Poor you Nikki - it's so disheartening. Will the Police put out an appeal for information on this? It's hard to know what to suggest, other than Vera's point about keeping them rugless and perhaps feeding them more or having a field shelter. One assumes they'll be waiting for you to buy new ones... |

Posted - 04 Nov 2009 : 11:51:00 AM Poor you Haven't any helpful suggestions, but hope you find a way to stop it! |

Posted - 04 Nov 2009 : 11:30:12 AM I'm so sorry to read that Nikki.
Right sod 'em, do they horses REALLY need rugs? For all the money you have spent on rugs go and buy a Field Shelter. |

Posted - 04 Nov 2009 : 10:35:19 AM Is the land yours? If so, could you not get planning for a mobile home or something for security reasons.
Surely this can't keep going on....
What about cameras? Alarms?
I really feel for you. I would be extremely worried. Rugs can be replaced but not every week!! |
