I have seen him close up many times at shows, at his home and gone in the stable with him. He is a lovely horse with a fabulous temperament and I'm sure knowing Peri that he will eventually come out under saddle. As far as his legs are concerned, his front feet are not quite a matching pair being slightly different in shape, but nothing like a club foot or anything. I see this variation quite a lot.

Peri showed another stallion Bugatti at US Nationals last year and was Top Ten in Halter and in Hunter Pleasure. This was the first time for a very long time that it has been done, as so many people say it can't be done, which I think is nonsense. My daughter has just done that with a Sport Horse Stallion at Sport Horse Nationals last week.

WOW he is just what i would love to own oh well i can just dream!

Well, I've checked out Mike's web site and there's no announcement on there YET ! Guess we'll just have to wait and see.......

Arcanum your comments are interesting - I haven't seen him in the flesh, only on video and in photographs, where of course it is impossible to judge the legs. From what I HAVE seen he appears to have a very beautiful head, a very elegant 'hooky' neck, a good body and topline, with lovely movement and tail carriage. His marks from the judges don't seem to indicate any major problems with his legs, but I would love to see if any one else has noticed any faults in this area, as I believe legs are VERY important.

Any of you who have seen him close up, would love to hear your thoughts

having just googled him he certainly has the *WOW* factor.

Would love to see him in the flesh.

I saw Stival at Towerlands in the collecting ring & must say I have never been so underwhelmed by a horse. Having rushed down to see this 'wonder' I couldnt see him in the collecting ring, having spotted only a little bay 'jumping pony' type (not that there's anything wrong with jumping ponies!) with no second thigh, no prescence & frankly not very impressive, this couldnt be Stival from all those amazing pictures I thought, until I saw him go in the ring & pose. Should'nt a horse impress just as much when relaxed as when 'hyped up' & how much are we hiding by this exagerated stance? I have been watching showing classes for over 20 years & seen some of the great stallions who exuded prescence & type & made my heart skip a beat just watching them mill calmly round a collecting ring. Of course this is just my opinion.

he is rather stunning! certainly took my breath away, look forward to seeing what he produces.

Stival is owned by Mike Wilson & Peri Tilghman of the USA,
He is standing in Germany with Frank Sponle,

There are no plans for him to stand in the UK, but plans are afoot for the 2010 breeding season,

google Mike Wilson training center for news of him and announcements

I wonder if he's going to be standing at stud in the UK next year, wouldn't that be great!

jasjmm Posted - 29 Sep 2009 : 6:17:27 PM
Ditto the above. He has that incredibly extreme neck. It was weird though when he was in the catalogue at Towerlands as UK owned and they played the UK national anthem. It was said on another site that it was a mistake - his owners are an American stud?

Agree he really is a stunning boy

Sue and Emrys Jones (Bychan Arabians) have imported a Versace mare in foal to Stival for early next year
