Posted - 30 Aug 2009 : 4:37:43 PM Hi, I've been lurking here for a while, and thought it was time to introduce myself. Yesterday I brought Zahkira home to join our other 3 arabs and the welsh/tb pony who's in charge of them all. I believe she was bred by Delyth, and previously owned by at least 2 postees on here. She travelled down from Essex to her new home here in East Sussex, she was very calm and appears to have settled in extremely well. Well actually my sister's gelding has decided that she is the love of his life and they appear to have bonded already!! I plan to start slowly introducing her to endurance next year. She is quite gorgeous and a real sweetie. (And really really pleased to be out at grass - I think she's been in 24/7 for some time). |

Posted - 31 Aug 2009 : 10:56:57 AM I used to own Kira and am gutted that her home obviously hasn't worked out, I had been trying to contact them after the sale to see how she was doing. Kira is a fantastic and loving mare and should be a brilliant endurance horse for you best of luck |

Posted - 30 Aug 2009 : 5:54:01 PM Delyth, we were a bit shocked by how many homes she has had already too. I was ideally looking for a chestnut gelding, but having met her I simply couldn't resist her. She passed the 5 stage vetting absolutely fine, her feet badly need trimming, but apart from that she's great, really quite chilled, so I don't think anything dreadful has happened to her. She has been bought as my next 'horse for life', in 40 years of owning mainly arabs and partbred arabs we have only ever sold one, so I think it's safe to say she won't be having any more owners. |

Posted - 30 Aug 2009 : 5:45:15 PM Thank you all for your welcomes. Not sure about the protocol, is it ok to post a link to a photographer's website? If so I can show you the other 3 arabs we have quite easily. Will have to take some stills of Kira in her new home, we only have video so far . I bought her from a girl who was trying her as a showjumper (!). |

Posted - 30 Aug 2009 : 5:37:00 PM OMG - she's changed hands again !!! I cannot believe how many homes she's had for a 4 year old. She has always had the most fantastic temperament and has always taken it all in her stride - bless her. I'm so pleased she's fallen on her hooves with you :) I hope she enjoys her new career, I think it'll be the making of her. Please, please let me know how she goes on. I've always worried about her, I had a buyer for her when she first changed hands and it was one for life but unfortunately they had a restricted budget and £'s seemed more important to the vendor !! And so she moved on and on and on and on !! Congratulations on buying this lovely young mare - you've made my day :) |

Posted - 30 Aug 2009 : 5:16:42 PM Congrats - she looks a lovely mare. I noticed she was for sale again recently on horsemart and knowing she'd only changed hands back in March I wondered what had happened and hoped she'd find a good permanent home. Might see you out round the endurance circuit next year |
