To find a 16" narrow GP or WH saddle to fit an Arab that is *not* wide and DOES have extremely good withers? They are not all wide and witherless!
At the moment I'm just looking for a stopgap temporary replacement for the one I lost in the fire and have lost track of the number I have seen that say 'wide - will suit Arab'. Not mine it bloody well won't!!

Well, I now feel ashamed about my whinging, because not only did all of you come out of the woodwork with your very kind offers of lovely narrow-fitting saddles, but it looks as though I have got fixed up locally with a hand-made English saddle for less than the price of a new synthetic!
Pat WW, I like you thought it would be a doddle getting a synthetic, but Thorowgood don't do narrow 16" any more, just ones for kiddies and fat ponies!!!!
I've yet to ride the boy in this saddle, but it looked a good fit when we tried it on last nice and seller said it was comfy to ride in (looks it!). Unfortunately, she had oiled it very enthusiastically, so I am having to wait until is no longer a greasy pole event to stay in the seat, LOL!
Kerry, my OH would probably be very interested in your western saddle - he is forever moaning about having sold his many years ago, and technically this is *his* horse. Could you please give me a PM with more details? Thanks!

I know a saddler who can make one for about £8-900 - english leather beautiful workmanship. PM me for details - will need your location. My boy is a medium and also has a good wither. |

There is a 16" Antill WH saddle on ebay at the moment (it doesnt say its a WH till you click on it though) & im sure that was a narrow fit, i already own one exactly the same & its a really nice fit on my arab. I think its on at £150 with a BIN of £200 |

if its temporary how about the cheapo nylon saddles, there is one that comes with width fitting changing tool for the gullet. some have cut back head so better for higher withers. you should find one on ebay and get your money back when you sell it on. |
