Posted - 22 Jun 2009 : 11:19:47 AM Does anyone else hoover their feed/tack shed, or is it just me?
I was hoovering away, minding my own business, when a friend came to call and could not believe what I was doing
I thought I was normal |

Posted - 23 Jun 2009 : 1:50:14 PM Ah, now, I do accept hoovering the stable; with my horse having copd I may well do it for hers before she is using it in winter (even though she's only in it about once a week). If horses are around you do want to keep dust down - but it's still pushing it to take it to the feed room!
My bloke was surprised I knew what a hoover is! |

Posted - 22 Jun 2009 : 6:14:04 PM I think thats perfectly in order Nat, I hoover my barn and I also use a leave sucker to clear the floor. No dust rises like it does from sweeping it with a big broom. |

Posted - 22 Jun 2009 : 6:10:10 PM I sweep mine out every day with a witches broom!
At night it is a very good mode of transport!
My mum gets the hoover in my daughters stable to do the dust and webs. She also hoovers the window sills.
Paddy loves a clean stable but i must admit i cant be bothered with the rest of them!
We do hoover the dog! Easier than brushing him.
Oh and i love my poo sucker that hoovers eveything!

Posted - 22 Jun 2009 : 6:03:25 PM I don't even have time to vacuum the house that often! Well actually that's not strictly true cause I could be vacuuming now if I chose rather than being on here so maybe time isn't the issue! |

Bloomin 'eck! You all sound seriously in need of a shortage of time in which to do things... mine gets a good empty and sweep once a year; otherwise, obviously any spilled feed is swept up and out but I have better things to do! Of course, all feed is kept in separate bins so what harm can a bit of dust do??? |

Posted - 22 Jun 2009 : 12:54:09 PM Awe Nat, you can come and Vacuum our feed room any day. Though Prince will mess it up again as he lives in the box at the back of it and gets loads of extras especially when its carrot season. My ambition this summer is to get a rug room, presently they are stored stacked above the feed room on a little gallery and not easy to sort out or see sizes, types/weights when they ar in bags. We want shelving and easy access would make life a lot easier. Remember being impressed on one stud visit that each stable had its own dustpan and brush for windowsills etc. |

Posted - 22 Jun 2009 : 11:39:56 AM I sweep the feedroom every day and it has never honestly uccured to me to vacuum it. I think I work on auto-pilot and don't think at all. What a brilliant idea. So it's up in the loft to find an old vacuum cleaner then.
