After all the complaints about lack of entries and enthusiasm in the AA/PB classes, I'm told there were 18 in the yearling class at Three Counties yesterday! (hope that's a fact). Are things looking up? I hope so.

Thanks Sal for that information. It is appreciated as it may help in the future.

As Babs says it's still disappointing but I think we may find more Anglo foals born next year, whether they will be registered or not is another matter.

I'm still of the opinion that all the 2 and 3 yr. old Anglos could go in together with the highest placed of each sex going forward to their respective championship. My only worry with the original schedule was yearlins fillies going against 3yr old colts. (maybe I'm a bit biased this year but like to think I'd say the same regardless of what I've got).

As for the PBs there are far too many splits IMO. Why not 2/3yr old small and 2/3 yr old large?.

Sorry if I've upset anyone saying this but the show doesn't stand a chance if we're not sensible about these things and we don't want to lose our classes altogether.

I shouldn't hold your breath for more entries this late. I don't think we're rich enough for that!!! Let's hope all entries are forward and Good Luck to everyone.

Thanks again

Jean

Disappointing Really, when one sees how many Anglos/PBA are entering at the County Shows...Does this mean high entry fees, insistence of Members only adding extra costs and no prize money....very very expensive to enter AHS National Show !!!

Very few owners/exhibitors of Anglo/PBA have the benefit of a commercial stud or business, as is possibly more the case with Pure Bred Exhibitors. Can only think the expense maybe the reason why they are not supporting the AHS Nationals as was hoped for, now that classes have been split by age and sex.

However, trust the AHS will continue to run the classes as per the revised schedule in the hope that over the next few years, AA/PBA exhibitors will again support classes in ever increasing numbers, in the future

Hi Jean

Certainly we'll tell you how many entries there are to date for The Nationals - obviously not the numbers for specific classes. We feel as the Anglo and Part Bred classes have been asked to be put back on , and as you and Babs championed them from the beginning, it is only fair to keep you posted. Also bearing in mind the final closing date is this Friday so feel free to persuade more to enter as obviously we would like to increase these numbers.

Anglo Arab - senior section - entries totalling 17
junior section - entries totalling 11

Thats a total of 28 over 9 classes.

Part Bred - senior section - entries totalling 33
junior section - entries totalling 27

Making a total of 60 over 13 classes.

Obviously we would like more if possible...

WOW things are looking up for the AA+PBA's, WOW well done for a PBA at royal cornwall doing the arab breeding proud!

Last year there were 14 2/3 yr olds in Anglo P/B at Royal cornwall and this year there were 16 entered and 10 forward in that class and 13 entered in yearlings. It was a 2 yr old part bred who went forward to win the CUDDY also!!!

21 in the two height sizes for 2/3yr. olds at 3 counties.

Things do seem to be looking good!

Hi - I think the Anglo / PBA classes were more supported than the Pure Breds on Sunday at the 3 Counties - Georgina

Great news........are eyes finally opening to the fact that Anglo/PBA`s are so.......VERSATILE ?? One horse....several classes to enter = economy!! Beauty and Performance, rolled into one!!!!

Brilliant........there were 22 ridden Anglo and Part-breds at Royal Cornwall.

Yes, I've been wondering too. Don't suppose anyone will tell us though??? Maybe it is just the prize-money that's the attraction. We'll see.

Yes Jean, can confirm that fact. A friend of ours was there spectating and she said the yearling Anglo/PBA class had 16 entries

Finally, can we believe, the times they are a changing???

Will just be interested to know how many have entered for the Nationals ??
