Posted - 08 Jun 2009 : 3:45:52 PM I hope to breed from my mare next year and am stil at a loss as to which stallion to use! She is seven years old and 100% Old English but I am looking for something that will give her a bit of scope and refinement - AI or natual. I only plan to breed from her once for a foal to keep but have no idea what to look for in a stallion. I do have my own short list but just wondered what you all thought. She is about 14.3hh.

Posted - 08 Jun 2009 : 6:33:04 PM Lindsay, I'd question whether she needs "refining"!? One thing I would say is that, judging from the photo (which may well be at a poor angle), she looks to have a lovely front but maybe a stallion that could put a longer length of quarters/level croup onto a foal might be a consideration? Just my opinion as I think she looks like a lovely, useful sort.

Would create that wonderful English/Babson cross.
The Babson influence creates doers! Useful horses.
