I have just got in from my yard after prepairing
my horses for Hocon tomorrow. I havent shown for
a few years and now i remember why. I am so exhausted
so why do we do it to ourselves and our horses

I decided to take my gelding and my filly after my
mum passed away recently, I think i did it on a bit
of a whim but my god i have to take my hat off to
the people who do it week in and week out. I did
used to but think i must be getting to old lol

Good luck to everyone else who is going

Karitaz, thank you. I totally love all of my
horses to bits, I am proud of my filly as she
took everything in her stride and that for me
is the main thing as i feel i have done my job
in making a nicely rounded youngster if you know
what i mean.

I was hoping to have some pictures to put up of
her soon

Well done for all your effort and certainly with the youngsters I think if they go through the whole process of bathing, travelling and getting in the ring without too much trauma that can be deemed a success
As we all know showing is very variable and often a case of taste so as long as you enjoy taking your horses home again that's the best thing!

Glad your filly was so well behaved. It's all you can ask for. At the end of the day showing is the opinion of the judge but it lets everyone else see what you have, and there will be loads of people on the outside of the ring who will have loved her. It's a great experience for her. You obviously have a laid back little lady. Look forward to pics. Hope you had fun.

Thanks Kimz, I will try to pop over to see you
later in the week if thats o.k. How did your boy
get on x

Hi Nat we are proud of you both regardless, we know that z is quality. Shame that the pba turnout was so low that the purebred classes started early. It was a real mixed bag, some large classes some small. But nice to be able to see your horse rumn indoors there. Also great to catch up with friends, sending much love to z and lola.

Hi thank you for your replys, Did not do very well.
First got there for 9.30 thinking had left loads of
time as was allowing half hour a class but when arrived
class was going on as friend went to get numbers. So
after 3/4 of an hour of trying to load him didnt even
get him off the the box. Then went in to yearling filly
class, came 7th out of 8. Which was not very good, but
that said and done she was so very well behaved. She
has never travelled before went straight up ramp and
was so calm considering never been in indoor school either.
She was a little hessitant but so well behaved. She
didnt run out as i know she can but i was just chuffed
with her and then we took her straight back to trailer
and she went straight back on again. What more could i
ask for. I personally thought she should of done better
but hey ho thats showing. It just reminded me why i dont
do it anymore. Whether i win or loose i dont need someone
to say they like my horses when i am happy with what i have.
My gelding used to win lots but i used to come home and
think its just to much effort for very little return.
The main thing is my little home bred filly was very well
behaved.
I will try sort some pictures when my friend send me them.

Thank you all again

Very tired now going to get something to eat then off to bed. But will be worth it im sure. See you tomorrow
