Selections below:

Pure Arab (PA) Maiden over 1 Mile:
TO WIN - Sandababa was 3rd to Razen over 7f, 2nd to Marwah over 9f and Basela at Wolves and 4th last time out to Rathowan. This looks a good opportunity to get his head in front.
PLACE CLAIMS- Murjan has been steadily improving and was unlucky not to win when 2nd to Al Afreata at Wolves over 7f. While Shadiya caught the eye at Salisbury when 4th to Mkeefa over1 mile.

OPEN (TB/AA) Handicap over 6 Furlongs:
TO WIN – Elliot’s Choice impressed when winning over 12f at Taunton in May and won again at Salisbury over 8f, and looks capable of scoring a hatrick here.
PLACE CLAIMS – Adalar has been in great form this season winning three times this season over 7f, 10f and 14f. While Mandys Maestro won over 6f last season and has been running well when 2nd to Adalar over 7f and to Sri Kuantan over 6f.

PA 0-65 Handicap over 1 Mile 2 Furlongs:
TO WIN – Al Mamoon comes from the in form Delyth Thomas yard, won 4 times from 7-9f and was 2nd to Qeethaara at Salisbury (a winner since) over 6f and looks capable of winning this.
PLACE CLAIMS - Salman has been moderate in 2 maidens but is half brother to Dutch Derby winner Somra, comes from in form Bev Deutrom yard and merits respect on his handicap debut. Senor Dublcheck has been running well in defeat, 3rd to Syrah Gris on Dubai Day over 7f, 2nd to Samauring Zayin over 12f and 3rd to Pavot Al Kyle last time out over 8f.

PA 0-90 Handicap over 1 Mile 4 Furlongs:
TO WIN – Majaales won twice over 12f last season, 2nd to Mahra over 2 Miles at Hereford this term before winning over 3 Mile 2f at Nottingham, will stay every yard and will be hard to beat from this low weight.
PLACE CLAIMS – Noble Athlete has won 3 races this term at Wolves 9f, Hereford 7f and over 1 Mile at Newbury, stays this far and will be fighting out the finish. Kalikeauba made all to win over 13f last term, 3rd to Eustral in the stayers handicap on Dubai Day over 13f and 2nd to Majaales over 3 Mile 2f last time out.

OPEN (TB/AA) 0-170 Handicap over 1 Mile:
TO WIN – Red Myth looked back to form when winning over 7f at Wolves, and should be able to follow up here.
PLACE CLAIMS – Kitchen Sink won over 8f at Taunton last season, and looked to be coming back to form when 2nd to Fulvio at Hereford. Dancing Grace is a class act and can hold her own with TB’s, she won over 8f last year and could score in this grade.

PA 0-80 Handicap over 6 Furlongs:
TO WIN – Miswadah has won twice this term over 7f and 8f and was 2nd to Ambrose over 7f at Salisbury, speedy and improving and should score here.
PLACE CLAIMS – Pinkie Tuscadero won over 7f last term at Hereford at this grade, she was 2nd to Noble Athlete over 7f at Hereford and not disgraced in G3 five furlong sprint last time out. Queethaara won over 6f on her handicap debut at Salisbury and followed up over 7f at Wolves, improving and dangerous here but 13lb higher in the handicap now.

PA Handicap 0-50 over 1 Mile 4 Furlongs:
TO WIN – Bonham has slipped down the handicap, he was a well beaten 3rd behind Samauring Zayin over this trip at Hereford, but this is a lower grade and the Thomas yard looks unstoppable at present.
PLACE CLAIMS – Terminator’s Dream has notched up 3 seconds behind Pavot Al Kyle this season over 6f, 7f and 8f last time out, should stay this trip as dam won over stamina trips. Shamal has been lightly raced this season, but won the Athbah Bronze final well over 10f at Warwick last season and was 3rd over C&D as well.

PA Handicap 0-75 over 1 Mile 4 Furlongs:
TO WIN – Altesse Kossack won over a mile at this track last term and over 14f at Wolverhampton back in May, she will relish the trip and should win again here. Yard in form with 2 wins last meeting.
PLACE CLAIMS – Floren won well at Notts over 14f (beat Des’brie) and went down by to Neige Al Maury over this trip at Hereford. Whisper won over this trip at Fakenham last term and was 2nd to Mahra at Taunton over this trip in May.

The Friends of Arabian Racing Remembrance Maiden Stakes over 1 Mile:
An exciting finish to the final maiden of the season with Zaaqya, Hotfoot, Nasemah and Murjan all fighting out a thrilling finish. Oliver cut out a decent pace at the head of the field with Shadiya, Hotfoot and Zaaqya all prominent, but as they headed inside the final two furlongs it was Hotfoot who shot into the lead, with Zaaqya and Murjan both breathing down her neck. As they entered the final furlong it was the 3 yr old filly Zaaqya (Al Sakbe x Sophie Du Loup (Manganate)), making her racecourse debut, under a superb ride from Phil Collington, who went into the lead and showed a smart turn of foot to win by two lengths for owner/breeder HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and trainer Gill Duffield. Hotfoot (Burning Sand x Direct Route (Way To Go)) ran a storming race back in second, she showed plenty of speed and potential in throwing down a challenge to the winner but had to settle for second. While Nasameh (Kaolino x Maheba de Piboul), also making her debut and earning her place in history by being Kaolino’s first ever runner on the race track, finished like a train inside the final two furlongs and snatched third off a one paced fav Murjan (Monsieur Al Maury x Volna); she is one to follow next season.

The Season Finale at Warwick Racecourse on Saturday 8th October OPEN (TB/AA) Race Handicap over 6 Furlongs:
An impressive pillar to post victory here for David Turner on Sue Herrod & Kevin Down’s How Realee, a typically power packed ride from Turner who started as he meant to go on setting a scorching pace with Mandy’s Maestro chasing all the way in his slipstream. As they entered the final furlong inspite of hanging and with Mandy’s Maestro all out to peel him back, How Realee (Kotashaan x Lucky Diverse) found that extra gear to kick clear for a two and a half length victory. Speaking afterwards delighted owner/trainer Sue Herrod said “He’s been running so well all season and I knew he could win, but we were quietly confident today and David rode a great race.” Mandy’s Maestro ran a solid race back in second, he was always chasing the winner and had every chance in the final furlong but couldn’t get there. Back in third was an eye catching run from owner/trainer/jockey Simon Heaney’s Blue Valentine who was always going well and although he had no extra kept on for third ahead of a fast finishing Fulvio.

The Athbah Stud 0-65 Handicap Stakes over 1 Mile 2 Furlongs:
One of the most popular wins of the day was Senor Dublcheck who has been knocking on the door all season with some excellent placed efforts this season including third to Syrah Gris on Dubai Day, he was given a superb ride by Rob Woollard who stalked the field throughout out before launching his run inside the final to win impressively going away by five lengths. The field started off at a decent gallop with Amyzing Zayin leading the field at a good gallop with stablemate Wikkara chasing on her outside and the field settled in behind. As they entered the final three furlongs Wikkara went into the lead with Senor Dublecheck cruising menacingly in behind, Wikkara kicked into a clear lead in the home straight, but Woollard was confident in behind on Senor Dublecheck (Bengali D’Albret x Mais (Mamluk)) and powered clear inside the final furlong for a five length victory for the BXPS Partnership and trainer David Paton. Speaking afterwards Paton commented “He’s been so consistent all season and deserved to win, we thought this was his ideal trip, and a great ride from Rob.” Back in second was a return to form for last years Champion Arab Wikkara (The Wiking x Akara De Syrah), who made his endurance debut at Barbury Castle in August, he travelled well throughout and dug deep inside the final furlong but had no chance with the winner. Flashcat (Concord x Edjalie (Bengali D’Albret)) was the unlucky runner of the race, he got a disastrous start and was always chasing the field, but to his credit he kept on and was powering down the home straight but was still five lengths adrift in third. Amyzing Zayin (Concord x Jumah (Div)) showed her first sign of form this season and after making the running she kept on one paced for fourth.

The Royal Cavalry Of Oman 0-90 Handicap Stakes over 1 Mile 4 Furlongs:
A brilliant finish to this handicap race as the Bill Smith trained and the Athbah Stud owned pair Louran and Kalikeauba fought a battle royal for victory with the decision going down to the wire. Kalikeauba (Darike x Rilkela) cut out the early running under a typically dynamic ride from Simon Walker, but as they entered the final two furlongs Tom Garner moved Louran into a challenging position, and the two went head to head inside the final furlong with Louran (Doran x Mangaline Du Loup) just getting up to deadheat for victory with Kalikeauba. Majaales (Chndaka x Seglaoui) was always travelling well in behind and although he chased the first two he was always one paced and had to settle for third, but was in turn clear of Hidalgo.

The Penn Challenge OPEN (TB/AA) Race 0-170 Handicap Stakes over 1 Mile:
A shock win here for 12/1 shot Jay Ell The Trier (Talkin Man x Killoughey), given a great ride from Tom Garner who set off on him like a scolded cat, he made all and although headed at the half way stage by Just Serenade, he soon battled back into the lead and powered clear for a comfortable victory for owner/trainer Mrs E Kulbicki. This ride gave Tom a double on the day and on his final meeting as a jockey for Arab racing (Tom is turning conditional this winter). Back in second was a return to form for owner/trainer/breeder Jenny Peyton’s phenomenal Anglo mare Dancing Grace (Dancing Spree x Hardtoboss), she was settled in mid field but came with a strong late run in the home straight and took second inside the final furlong but could not reach the winner. Kitchen Sink (Bold Fact x Voodoo Rocket) ran a good race in third, always prominent he was chasing hard inside the home straight and took third in the final furlong from a one paced Red Myth.

The Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club Handicap Stakes 0-80 over 6 Furlongs:
A thrilling end to the QREC series of races with three top class sprint handicappers all fighting out a nail biting finish with Bill Smith's runner Sandababa just getting the better of a sustained battle with Pinkie Tuscadero in the final furlong. The field set off at a furious pace with the Adam Newey trained pair Pinkie Tuscadero and Syrah Gris setting a scorching gallop from the start with Sandababa, Miswadah, Raihan and Cosmic Girl in behind and 5/4 fav Qeethaara getting an awful start and gave the field a good six lengths. As they turned into the home straight it was still Pinkie Tuscadero who held the initiative from Syrah Gris, but Simon Walker was cruising in behind on Sandababa, and as they entered the final furlong these three grey Arabs all went head to head for victory. As they came into the final half furlong it was the impressive young colt Sandababa (Burning Sand x Bashaair (Wiking), under an excellent ride from Champion jockey Simon Walker, who just got home by half a length for UK owner/breeder Jane Haddock. Pinkie Tuscadero (Izentespeshal x Altyv) lost nothing in defeat, this mare is tough as teak and gave the race her all, battling on gamely in the closing strides but sadly couldn't hold off the winner. While Syrah Gris (Khoutoubia x Akara De Syrah) ran a much better race than Wolverhampton, the blinkers seemed to have sharpened him up and he had every chance one furlong out but had to settle for third, he remains in great form. Qeethaara (Makzan x Ikela) ran an incredible race to finish fourth having lost so much ground at the start, she is one to watch next season.

The Royal Cavalry of Oman 0-50 1 Mile 4 Furlongs:
Another popular winner here as Carol Legg’s talented handicapper Terminators Dream finally lost his maiden tag after notching up three seconds in his last few runs, given a fine ride by David Turner he stayed every yard of this trip and looks progressive. Lile D’Amour gamely tried to make all under Scott Bradbury and at one point seemed to have given the field the slip, but Terminators Dream and Notid were chasing in behind with Mahbishai. As they entered the final furlong Lile D’Amour had to concede her lead and Terminators Dream (Bengali D’Albret x Dantes Dream (Dantist)) went to the front and in spite of nearly throwing the race away by jinking inside the final half furlong, Turner managed to galvanise him straight and he won by a length for owner/breeder Eric Legg (Carol’s father). Speaking afterwards winning trainer Carol Legg said “ He’s such a smashing horse and it’s great to see him finally get everything together and get his head in front, great ride from David” . Notid (Tidjani x Sherrie Noreen) was always travelling well, but was always chasing the leaders, inside the final furlong he stayed on dourly to take second. Lile D’Amour (Merlin Al Maury x Daad) was only a neck back in third, she made all and was unlucky not to quite get home but is running well this term.

The Byerley Turk 0-75 Handicap Stakes over 1 Mile 4 Furlongs:
A fast and furious finish to this stayers handicap with Floren, Neige Al Maury, Altesse Kossack and Verdora all taking each other inside the final furlong for a nail biting finish. Floren gamely tried to make all with David Turner going for a treble, as they entered the home straight he still had the initiative, but Altesse Kossack was travelling well in behind and she hit the front a furlong out with Neige Al Maury and Verdora all throwing down a strong challenge. As they entered the final furlong it looked as if Steve Harrison was going to take victory on Altesse Kossack, but Phil Collington managed to galvanise a monumental effort from HH Sheikh Hamdan’s smart mare Neige Al Maury (Dormane x Nectarine Al Maury) and she got home by a nose; giving Gill Duffield a second winner of the day. Altesse Kossack (Marwan x Azedine A) was desperately unlucky and went down by the narrowest of margins, she remains a classy prospect. Verdora (Dormane x Vert Galante) ran well back in third but couldn’t quite go with the first two and had to settle for the minor spot, but she in turn was a length clear of Floren (Bengali D’Albret x Florys De Nautiac).
