We have had a number of phone calls regarding the Dalton In-hand section at the Cherif Championship this year.

Just to remind you all, there is no qualification required for the In-hand sections.

Babs,

We will save you a class of bubbles, don't worry! Unfortunately, the days that we all remember when there were always two lines in each class have long gone, however we are delighted with the entries that we have received.

The standard is amazing for both ridden and In-hand. The ridden section has already passed the 100, with three more shows to go. Where could anyone go to see over 100 ridden Anglo and part-bred Arabs?

Look forward to seeing you on the day with your trophy (not too big - Sue hates cleaning silver!) These are not the entries!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, the senior A/Liners will remember when The Cherif Championships and Anglo/PBA In Hand Championships here staged at Stoneleigh

Classes were huge in all sections, Ridden and In Hand, with often two lines of quality Anglos and Part Breds.......those were the days

Methinks the re-introduction of the In Hand section with realistic entry fees and excellent prize money will bring about a resurgence of our wonderful Anglos and Part Breds. A Showcase Show where exhibitors in the ridden Cherif classes, will be able to view their future ridden Anglo and Part Bred Arab Champions

A Huge thankyou to the Organisers of The Cherif Championships..... your 21st Anniversary will go with a big bang and will be hugely successful, well deserved

Hi Sarah,

So pleased that you discovered that no qualification is required for the In-hand. Hope to see you there, and if you want a schedule, give me a shout.

Yes the In-hand section is causing some excitement which is fantastic for yourselves and for us as exhibitors!! With terrific prize money and a great venue I would think people are prepared to make a long a journey....well I am for sure

Lesley,

It is a long journey from Scotland, although we have had ridden entries, and I know of people from Fife who will be down for the ridden.

It is so nice to hear that the inclusion of the In-hand is causing excitement - just what we want, and where better to see future "baby" Cherif Champions.

I'm having the luxury of my mare and foal being produced for me so no doubt the producer will have a schedule as it was them that suggested we enter as I think they will have ridden ones there as well. So looking forward to it as I've heard so much about this show and how organised it is

We are planning to make the trip for the In Hands as well and at the Midland Spring show heard of others intending to go.

It will be great to once again have a shop window for our young stock giving the ridden fraternity a chance to see the future stars.

Looking forward to it.

Jean

I'm planning to take my mare and foal to this show and I'm so looking forward to it. This will be a first time at the Cherif for me

The classes for the In-hand are to be split at 148cms, and will include Yearlings : 2yr olds : 3yr olds : Brood mares and foals : Barren mares and geldings 4yr & Over : and Stallions. Each section will then have a Junior and Senior Championship, and these eight horses and ponies will not meet until the Supreme.

It is going to be a great show.
