Posted - 23 Aug 2010 : 11:31:17 AM We were with the horse involved in the accident, such a shame it happened as she is a real mover and loved to play in the home arena - she just panicked with the noise and no handler We did say as we watched the horses prior to ours, why on earth stand in the middle - sitting ducks sprung to mind!? Roll on next week, can't wait! |

Posted - 13 Aug 2010 : 4:59:27 PM Atlantica- the original unicorn Also saw hearstopping moment with Aliha, not a dry eye anywhere. We all cheered....... |

Posted - 13 Aug 2010 : 1:44:24 PM Kharidian - I agree with you and have to say that Emma with Aliha was the best liberty and natural horsemanship - she was totally at one with her, sitting in the arena and Aliha naturally coming across to her - truely wonderful - I dont think we have seen anything like that since! Also she did of course have one of the best trots ever imo - like her daughter Atlantica! |

Posted - 12 Aug 2010 : 11:40:26 AM Same here, the liberty was FUN, and although I am very sorry someone got hurt (and I was there), they shouldnt be standing in the middle of the ring with a loose horse!!! They can be judged very well from the sidelines/stands. Also I thought that the liberty class was judged on audience participation?? And would LOVE the veteran class to come back, could fill the entries on my own lol!!! |

Posted - 12 Aug 2010 : 12:22:20 AM I also wish they had had a veteran gelding class as would of took my old boy but hey ho not to be. So will just enjoy watching |

Posted - 09 Aug 2010 : 9:47:14 PM The first Liberty class I saw was UKIAHS in 1990 (I think) and I was gob-smacked by Emma Maxwell and Alliah (apologies for spelling of the beautiful mare's name)who gave a truly breathtaking, controlled display of sheer trust and partnership.
Fast forward to the late 2000s - when the Liberty class (admittedly only seen on the official DVD) seemed to consist of chasing the horses round by waving bags on a stick!!
Enough said. Caryn |

Posted - 08 Aug 2010 : 9:41:02 PM Liberty - agree Pashon - its not the horses that cause the problem but I have to say when my beautiful Basra won the Liberty partnered by Andrew Tonge - it was poetry in motion and not one human was hurt in the procedure lol. Many said it was the best liberty ever |

Posted - 08 Aug 2010 : 03:27:38 AM Answer to that..................have judges stand to the side lol!!! |
Sadika |
Posted - 07 Aug 2010 : 9:08:43 PM Suggest about 5 ish ... but obviously depends on numbers forward ... there's a drinks do in the ring after!!! |

Posted - 07 Aug 2010 : 8:30:33 PM Can someone please tell me what time the show usually ends on the Sunday? |
Sadika |
Posted - 06 Aug 2010 : 8:51:09 PM Well sadly the last liberty held there resulted in a judge being knocked flat over (with me as the next one behind her) - it was very worrying and certainly demonstrated that humans should not be in the middle of the ring!!! Arabians at liberty who are enjoying showing themselves off are lovely in the right circumstances but maybe an indoor show at night isn't the right place ... |
