photo by Chris Cole. This is the climb up to the top of the hill and you have to come down the same way heading home at the end. The crew wait at the roadside and we can just see the horses making their way across the top and back down the Hill in the distance.

The Red Dragon is coming very soon now..if you would like to sponsor a horse you can at £5 per day, per horse. It quite easy just enter your name here and leave me a posting.. and you can have any horse from the entry.. Friday, Saturday or Sunday. or all three days for £15.
All funds raised will go to ESAF who are feeding the Horses, donkeys and Camels at this time in Giza, Egypt.

Last year £600 was raised as a result of the Red Dragon.
Thank You.
Sue.xx
Evans.
Adding a few photos from throughout the year.I asked Dr.Mohammed if when they went to Treat these horses with the mobile clinic could they also take them Greens. if I paid.. 'No Problem' was his reply. so each time they went out with there mobile clinic to hold a clinic. Greens went too.So throughout the year 2013 ESAF provided Greens when they went out to Treat the Horses, Donkeys & Camels.. about two or three times a week. They told me in January when they received the last lot of money collected from the Dragon..that it would pay for the Treatment & feeding of the animals until July 2013. I also sent another donation raised from a Wine Evening in April 2013.Thing took a turn for the worse with the second revolution and its where we join them now. Struggling to feed the 3000 Pyramid horses and of course offering treatment as well. Throughout July, August & up to the 15th. September they have fed & treated 4.466 horses & Donkeys and 391 Camels and as well as the occasional greens they have now started a survival diet of mixed dry food and added vitamins. The money I have just sent to ESAF (Wine Evening Sept) will ensure they get fed for another month.. until the end of October 2013.
So Please dip into your pockets for this next fundraiser to help ESAF(Egyptian Society of Animal Friends)& its Vets to continue their good work in Giza with the horses...... and sponsor a horse for the Red Dragon today.
I (Sue Evans) have been accredited with the fact that I have sent donation (your donation) to help the situation.(and they have)they refer to me Sue Evans and her UK supporters.
group. Thank You. Everyone involved.

I was just thinking ... unless I missed it, is there not a PayPal Account people could send money to. It's a good 5 years since I have seen a cheque book; and I think it would be so much easier for people to make donations electronically?
Rozy Rider Posted - 21 Oct 2013 : 5:45:46 PM
If you have not done the Red Dragon ride before..(like me) and want to watch the Hill section. Go to Endurance GB and find the Red Dragon.
then click on results..and scroll down and watch the video of the Hill.

-----------------
I have being collecting for the horses in Egypt through the last two revolutions and feel that we've already made our mark on the horses, donkeys and camels there. ESAF continued to feed these animals as they had done for the years before and once ESMA gave up feeding due to their own financial state in November 2011, I asked ESAF if they would continue the feeding and treating of these animals, some 3000 horses, with their mobile clinic over..so all the monies I have raised since November 2011 has gone directly to ESAF (Egyptian Society for Animal Friends). They go out once or twice a week near the pyramids and set up a treatment & feeding day where anyone came go along and get free vet treatment (esaf have 6 vets) and since January (2012)last year they also offer greens(paid for by us)at every treatment & feeding day. Things have taken a turn for the worse of late and hard food and chop have also being fed. Numbers are always collected and they can be seen in ESAF's report, not just a few but hundreds benefit from this programme it runs into thousands.
Good Luck to You All & Good Luck to ESAF in Egypt.

and Thank you for for helping me to help them.
Cheers till next year.
Sue.xx

In 2011 the Red Dragon fund amounted to £816 sterling.ESMA.
2012 - Red Dragon amounted to £600 sterling & went to ESAF.
This year its looking more like £300 - £400. but I'll keep you posted.
And Thank you to everyone who has help to raise funds.
Cheers Sue.xx.
(A Wine Tasting I did in September brought in £500 sterling and there is another one arranged for 23rd.November 2013 & Table Top sale for October 24th).

Address please!

Eba finished both 65k rides with a grade 4 in each despite having to finish day one on her own for the first time when her companion horse threw a shoe and had to wait for the farrier; and her second season in endurance - that is 21 rides in all and no fails. I think she is currently lying 8th in the young rider awards, although obviously there are still results coming in.

I am so proud of her, her loan home and her rider. They have done a great job in bringing her on.
