It looks as if there were 140 startes in this 120km race ride. The first GBR horse to finish was Suz Perry & Sky Light Crusader in 22nd position at 21kmph.Fiona Hamilton & Courtside was next in the 25th spot and Kimberley Dean in 26th position. Christine Yeomans & LM Midday came home in 39th,Becky Broughton & Java in 41st,and not forgetting Rachel and Tawmarsh Muharram who came home in 42nd, Gill and Malabar Storm, Georgia Hirst, Kirsty, Jane James,Linda Sherwood,Nicky Roulet and Jane Stanley... all finished for GBR. Well Done to them all and Thank You for Flying the flag for GBR. Its sounds from the reports to have been a very exciting ride and several loose horses and fallers. But a Great Party in the Park with a list of International Endurance stars...Hope someone has taken photos.

Leaving the link to the full results, including the international starters list and what a list that was.. Riders came from as far as Australia to compete. The first 10 riders to finish will now get an invite from the HH Shk Mo to compete in the UEA ride in Dubai in January 2010.

It's reported that prize money amounting to £150+K was on offer, with prize money to all combo's that finished. (said to be £1k each).

Go to Sunday August 2nd August.

Cheers Sue

I was at the Euston park rides at the end of June where an arab horse being ridden by a British young rider broke a pastern. This happened just in front to of myself and Cat Moon. British young rider was very upset and managed the horse very well ie instantly stopped and horse was sensible enough to stand still.

Stress fractures can happen at any time, one UK endurance family lost two horses in the same way a few years ago, one while undergoing lamness investigation at the vets. Accidents happen.

I was also at the ride on the 9th.
Yes the Perry's horse Mishal, competing in the 80km 1 star FEI class, suffered a suspected ruptured vessel from the heart, commonly known as a heart attack and died while on the blue loop. Rider fine but family obviously devastated.

Again something that can happen at any time without warning, including while walking. I have seen it happen in NH racing on TV

Some of the riders will be back there again for the FEI ride on Sunday 9th.
Leaving the link to the stage by stage results from Sunday 2nd...Party with the Stars..what an international entry.. You'd have had to travel the world to see these riders if HH Shk Mo had not put on this party in the Park...and prize money to boot.

Congratulations to everyone, especially Kirsty and Eskar!

Sounded a fantastic, well run event!
A golden opportunity for those riders who don't have FEI passports to ride alongside the elite of our sport!
I was seriously considering taking Khebir, but he hasn't attempted 120km yet, and it wouldn't have been fair asking him to carry the minimum 75kgs required on his first attempt at this distance (I'm only 55kg)
Hope they run it again next year!!
Big congrats to all the Brits who completed!! Especially our Kirsty & Eskar!!

You forgot Rachel Stendall who finished 42nd for GBR despite being knocked off her horse by another rider 5 minutes from the start and her horse losing a shoe at the 3rd vetgate and having to wait to have it replaced.
