Posted - 02 Aug 2009 : 8:35:15 PM Hi all,
When my mare used to compete in endurance while on loan, she was ridden in a bitted bridle with a rope halter bridle underneath so that she was mostly ridden off the halter but the bridle was there in case needed. I have a friend who would like to do the same, having seen other horses on endurance rides with these rope bridles underneath - does anyone know where she can get one or offer any advice on these?
Thanks!

Posted - 06 Aug 2009 : 1:47:41 PM I used only the Parelli type halter when I rode Rimmy at rides. You used to be able to send for them by post.

Just a quick note if purchasing a rope headstall, be sure to Boil the knots before use, as many are sold without this treatment it will stop most knot slippage, I have seen some incorrectly made headstalls come almost undone while still on the horses head,
