Posted - 05 Jan 2011 : 8:18:26 PM Would also add a vote for very cheap Tesco shirt and silk tie combo - got mine ( reduced) for £8.50 for both in Inverurie in a very smart navy silk tie with light blue shirt pack. |

Posted - 05 Jan 2011 : 6:58:47 PM Re ties - I bought a silk one very cheaply in Wrexham Tesco when I realised en route to N. Wales Arab show that I had left mine at home. You can even park a lorry there! |

Posted - 04 Jan 2011 : 4:51:23 PM I bought some Equileather ones from the Just Togs range, they are really lovely but even though wide they are not broad enough in the flipper department bargain they were at £35.00 gutted, might try them on again LOL
Re hat i really would like a navy does it matter about black webbing instead of flesh straps? |

Posted - 04 Jan 2011 : 1:55:41 PM hiya, you should have a navy hat for showing really - to be honest you can get new budget hats in most tack shops i have seen some suprisingly smart ones( without comprimising on safety) for around £35 - £40 which is very good. re the long boots, you could always try Equileather which is a combination of leather and the traditional rubber boot, they are very easy care look 100% like the real thing and arent as costly as leather I show in them myself and they are great in the summer as your feet dont get hot! they are around £50.00 new but you can find them on ebay. again the jodphurs you can buy on Ebay and I would go for the canary ones, I will try and find the link for you and PM mine are lovely and where £20.00 brand new! shirts I bought mine (in a small!) from Tesco mens department lol and they are perfect! and you can have short/long sleeved version as well. ties I have some silk ones which where expensive £20.00 each, but they are lovely and I will get bags of use from them! if you dont want to splash out again tesco have some nice colour/or M&S are pretty good. hope this helps a bit - its all very exciting with new season not too far away!! |

Posted - 01 Jan 2011 : 4:56:06 PM I would think a black one would look better with the green jacket unless there is a navy thread through the tweed ?? |

Posted - 01 Jan 2011 : 01:30:40 AM The jacket arrived and it fits Now what a great excuse not to diet LOL
Next ? for you all do you think it would be ok to have a navy velvet on my skull at Non affiliated shows/pre novice classes? |

Posted - 30 Dec 2010 : 8:49:18 PM Sarah Lock once put a post on here about canary/cream shirt.
Buy a white cotton school shirt from Primark, for a few pound. New yellow dusters from Poundland. Put them both in the washing machine together, and hey presto cream coloured shirt.
Best not to try the above with jodhpurs though.
Charity shops always have loads of ties. If you are using a coloured browband, match your tie as close as you can.

Posted - 30 Dec 2010 : 4:05:12 PM Angel wishing you all the best with your plans for '11, but as an adult you would need to wear long boots for ridden showing, or get black leather chap/gaiters - I'm not sure of their correct name, to go with your jodphur boots. I personally think breeches are better with long boots as they are closer fitted in the lower leg. Good luck |

Posted - 29 Dec 2010 : 11:32:35 PM Oooh !!!! your excitment is catching a nice cream shirt and a tie to contrast your jacket dark green/cream. Cream or cannary jods should finnish off the picture
Edited to say ... try the charity shops for ties, we have a selection of silk ones now all from charity shops. |
